and stop defending Archie or mitigating the disappointment if you liked his hire (I did, but I'm not unwilling to confess we made a mistake … 9 years of orange AHole might do that to a lot of us). Brass tax, we suck, he's sucked, and very much so for his salary. I'm certain some of us who know what basketball looks like could probably do better drunk … Billy Clyde knows basketball, one year contract for $100K and free booze … I'd actually be optimistic if that went down while we look for new coach. The stupidity has to end, you should not have the right to wear the uniform and disrespect it. It has been going on since Crean and needs to stop.

Look up Coach K's first 4 years at Duke, Beilein at UM, Painter's at Purdue, etc. 1 recruiting class is not enough to build a program that graduate 5 in his first year (including the best shooter and best PG, which should tell you all you need to remember about the roster he took over). Freshmen PG's are inconsistent. Its not that difficult to think reasonably, if you try. If you don't let a coach build a program, you will never have one. Archie didn't have much to do with this roster. Get over it.

Painter had a year to do nothing but recruit under Keady, and it still took Davis deciding he didn't need to recruit the top 4 recruits in the state for him to break through.

Well, I have a big problem paying someone appropriately to do what you claim is impossible in that case. I won't get over it, sorry, I'm sick of buying cable to watch shit for that sole purpose for basically the last 20 years, and very tired of people defending the shitty product. Do we need to pay him more to not SUCK? Tired of this shit, our cable bills alone and B10 revenue warrant a good coach, not some half-ass we pay almost as much

You must have no understanding of college basketball if you think any coach can lose their entire backcourt in one year and produce consistent results the next. Freshmen are inconsistent and the backcourt is the most important part of college bball. The didn't make the NIT with that senior backcourt. They barely missed the NCAA's with a Freshman backcourt. If you haven't seen progress, you have no idea what you are talking about. There are ZERO examples of a coach taking over a poorly designed roster and immediately getting results, unless you would like to cite them for me? I know you won't, cause you are nothing but a troll....

I do expect a team that is worth the cable bill to watch them in the winter. FO, if you want this to be IU basketball, go watch Crean in Georgia … I'm sure he'll beat GT once next year and you can have your super bowl party with the PU fans on making S16.

It would appear the OP is having some issues paying his cable bill.

Brass tax!? Trump got rid of that. MAGA

I mean it goes both way. Bo Ryan finsihed in 1st both or his first two seson. Chris Beard was killing it by year two. And there are tons of examples of guys who flamed out and never got it going after three years. I think we will have a very good idea if archie is the guy or not by the end of next year.

I think Archie should hire you to be his PR guy.

Bennett went15-16 his first two years at Virginia. It takes time to turn around a program

IT is sweet that we keep being told by you guys that year three is the year over and over. I am expecing a big big year next year. I am thinking 20-24 wins. However, you forgot to mention Coach K, Beilein, and whoever else. Come on get with it!

On numerous posts you say “if you haven’t seen progress” - it’s truly one of the most absurd remarks I have ever read on this board. We lost 12 of 13. On more occasions than anyone cares to remember the team was completely flat. Including the egg they laid against Wichita State. It’s fine to say this year was an anomaly and he deserves a reset for next year. That’s fine. But stop saying “if you failed to see progress...” because it’s beyond stupid. There was no progress this year. We regressed.

Where was the 20 point loss this year to Fort Wayne and Indiana State? Yes, we went 1-12 over a 13 game span. Thank God we played over 30 games this year. We had ZERO losses to quad 3/4 teams. I don't even need to touch on injuries that could have easily generated 2 more wins. Darhawk is correct, there was progress this year. Sorry you cant see it.

The injuries, the record, the crap roster he inherited aside he absolutely needs to do more but don't say there wasnt progress.

You’re an abysmal poster - seriously, you verge on deranged, along with @fpeaugh. If you two numbskulls leave, the quality of this board improves by a factor of 17.

In other words, you have zero idea what you’re talking about, Trollenstein.

Go back and look at Purdue at beginning of year and now. That’s profess. Indiana does not qualify for progress.

There was progress. Both offensively and defensively. The advanced metrics bear that out.

First thing - get off cable. ComCrap is a ripoff; get a good internet connection and get Hulu Plus ($39/month, well worth it).

Secondly - as frustrating as the season was, you're not gonna wash away 25 years of mismanagement in 2 seasons, especially when we've had one true recruiting class under Archie. Got to give the man a chance to build this thing.

Lastly - invest in a fine bottle of Maker's Mark. It's there for you to celebrate the good times and help you thru the bad. ;) :D

Look up John Groce at Illinois. He started slow too. We have our John Groce. Why prolong the inevitable?

You must have no idea, how old are players are … freshmen backcourt … Devonte is a junior, Al a sophomore, RL and Phinisee are freshman and RL a lottery pick … woe is Archie, that must be so challenging

Nope, but the sad thing is I don't buy it to enjoy UNC getting smoked … though that is enjoyable, I pay for cable exclusively so I don't have to go to a bar to watch us … its cheaper to stay at home when we suck this bad

Excuse me but are you comparing CAM favorably with Coach K. My my you are the optimistic one.

Calipari does it every year.
You guys need a new coach. Throw the checkbook at Chris Beard. He’s back in the elite 8 (2nd year in a row) after losing half his roster last year. And he’s a Knight disciple no less.
We knew when to get rid of Billy G. IU deserves better.

Many IU fans will give Miller the benefit of the doubt this year due to injuries, etc. Next year, if the roster is healthy and the results are as bad or worse than this season, oil the torches and sharpen the pitchforks.

The usual suspects can’t figure that out. Can you imagine how haphazard their personal lives are?

CAM will get two more years. If he shows stability next year and gets some more big wins, he easily earns his 4th year. If he tanks next year, his seat will be scorching hot.
