And, whatever does get done on border security, I'm about 100% confident that the effort to weaken it will begin no later than when there's a new President (and/or Congress).
There's a reason that it's never gotten very far. And that reason is that there are interests who like it just the way it is. They're never very vocal about taking that position -- because it would be politically toxic. But that doesn't mean they aren't constantly working to keep the border porous.
