Kellan Wyatt Joins Hoosiers

You need as many rotational bigs as you can. Especially when it comes to pass rush. Keep them energized and wearing down our opponents DL. Love the experience and 7.5 sacks 14 TFL the last 2 years isn't too shabby. Only Carpenter and Kamara had more than 2.5 sacks last year for IU so one should surmise this is an upgrade in that area.

He even gives us the occasional option of putting all DE's across the Defensive front on an obvious passing down and Really make the opposing QB's life miserable.... Add a delayed LB blitz to that mix and you have a fumble/interception potentially in the making...

I LIKE IT.....!

Yep... This is a Big get...

Now we've got legit guys 2 and possibly even 3 deep who can put relentless pressure on the QB on both the right and left sides..
I have always felt that depth was the difference between us and the top teams. Minimal drop off when UMich or OSU sub to second team for an injury or rotation rest and huge drop off for us.

Another veteran addition to IU's defense.
Enormous pick up. First, Wyatt has played a ton, graded out well, and is known quantity. Second, Wyatt can conceptually play both ends, and now with the stalely pick up, he would like slot in as a back up SDE and back up to Kamara and see a ton of reps. This would allow Landino to bulk up a bit this summer and to slide inside to the 3T, which is probably is natural position. With Stalely and Wyatt at the Edges and Landino going inside (assuming I am right), we get a bit more athletic to match up with Haines attacking front scheme. Great job by the staff.
