Did anyone watch? Acquitted herself well, for the most part. Showed a bit of her true colors toward the end, but a good performance overall.

I'm well aware of all that. That's why I was somewhat surprised at how well she comported herself today.

It was obvious they wanted to gin up the outrage machine over the Flynn notes, and she got in a Fox plug at the end, but otherwise it was one of the most sane news conferences of the Trump era.

She’s hot and smart. Harvard law.
She's a shill with no scruples who parlayed her hots and her smarts into an entertainment job on Fox, and then to the White House. If she's able to keep herself reined in like she did today, she'll be dangerous.

The next Press Secretary who isn't a shill will set a precedent. You open up the folder looking for the job description and there's one sheet of paper with just one word, SHILL.

Right. She's hot and smart. ;) she'll parlay this gig into some tv role and be loaded before she's 35.

You weren't around for the early debate threads, were you?

What's your take on Tulsi?
Ha no i wasn't. I like kayleigh better. hearing her trump talk would eventually make my penis retreat tho. (wrong board sorry).

White House can't identify mystery river where Trump claims ballots were dumped
Mr Trump claims ballots in West Virginia were being ‘sold’

White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany folded under a simple question regarding a claim Donald Trump made that mail-in ballots for the 2020 US election were being dumped in rivers and creeks.
"Where is the river?" the reporter asked.
Ms McEnany, rather than answering the question, launched into a defensive tirade accusing the reporter of "missing the forest for the trees" and accusing him and others of lacking "journalistic curiosity."

"The other day [Mr Trump] said 'they found a lot of ballots in a river.' Who is they?" the reporter asked. "Who is 'they,' that found those ballots, and where is this river, anywhere in this country?"

McEnany claimed the "local authorities" were the ones who found the ballots in a ditch in Wisconsin. The reporter asked if that meant that Mr Trump misspoke, which McEnany denied. Then the reporter read Mr Trump's quote back to her, in which he claimed ballots were dumped in rivers and creeks.

At that point, Ms McEnany accused him of being shortsighted.
"I cover the news, I like to report accurately in the news, and the president says 'they found a lot of ballots in a river', I just want to know where the river is," the reporter shot back.
Ms McEnany then accused him ignoring the larger issue, which was alleged reports of ballots for Mr Trump going missing or being left uncounted.
She then claimed the press lacked "journalistic curiosity," despite the fact that the reporter was asking her for further details.

Apart from simply fact checking the president, asking for further details - particularly for a location - for such a brazen event as people dumping ballots in a river, would provide the press with an avenue for further reporting and verification.

Mr Trump has also claimed that ballots are being sold in West Virginia.

The president's frequent claims that mail-in-voting is especially susceptible to voter fraud is not backed by any data or research.

Lawrence Norden, the director of the Election Reform Program for the Brennan Center for Justice at the New York School of Law, told USA Today that Mr Trump's constant attacks on mail-in voting are not only inaccurate, they are harmful to the electoral process.

"What he said was full of misstatements and inaccuracies," Mr Norden said. "Mail-in ballots are safe and secure. We've been voting in some form by mail since the Civil War. It's dangerous to be making these false statements and accusations so close to the election."

we don't sell ballots in the US.

only those individuals on them, and all governance on anything economic.

the wealthy didn't just luck into the absurdly disproportionate division of wealth.

they bought all the legislation and regulation, or lack of it, that led to such an absurdly disproportionate division of wealth on the open market, which SCOTUS says is perfectly ok with them.

if Joe and Jane Worker didn't out bid Morgan Chase, Goldman Sachs, Wells Fargo, BlackRock, Merk, China, Google, Johnson and Johnson, Carl Icahn, Anthem, Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, Comcast, and AT&T, for representation in DC, that's on them.

they had their chance like anyone else.

Dunno. Would a 'democracy' allow him to clear a church with peaceful protestors nearby teargassed by with Fed officials, or a senate that is enabling his oligarchyish behaviour? Or change the CDC or FBI or investigation reports?

The first step to a post-Trump era is to ask the right questions. First thing to look at the supposed 'democracy' and how did a Trump ram through its supposedly 'safety valves' or tripwires.

The system has had its widening loopholes and Trump was just a vehicle or outlet to exploit it albeit a not too subtle/crass gold plated mack truck.

Citizens United is the main protagonist here.

I'm surprised at the praise in this thread for Press Secretary Barbie.

How receptive do you think she would be to an inquiry whether any of the daily security briefings prepared for the President mentioned the Proud Boys or whether the government had warned the public about the Proud Boys?

Trump said he didn't know who they are, but I think the govt has warned about them in the past. Trump is very skilled in absorbing information:

You’re SO much easier to read with paragraphs.

Well done. On the paragraphs, and the post. Couldn’t agree more. We’re basically screwed until things change. The ironic thing is that many of the people that hate “socialism” are the ones that were robbed. It’s too bad they can’t see it.

What were you watching, your bottle of whiskey or her (non-existent) cleavage?

Another ironic thing is that many of the people that say they hate "socialism" and "welfare" are perfectly fine with a $1,200 COVID stimulus and don't consider that to be either "socialism" or "welfare."

LOL okay. But for me she's lost her luster. Spewing lies and gibberish does that.

Shes as mendacious as Huckabee Sanders. No conscience at all regarding bald face lying to reporters everyday. It takes a certain personality disorder to do that.

Her next media conference will be interesting given that she was fully aware that she had been is very close contact with Hicks and still held a briefing with media after knowing Hicks tested positive. That might dominate the first part of the Q&A.

Any chance they left her in the dark and sent her out anyway? From what I have heard, they knew Hicks had symptoms and the president still attended a fundraiser and various meetings?

Unlikely. She probably had already undergone testing along with others who had been with Hicks.

Conservatives love themselves a liar. She’s checked that box.
