    RIP Kenny Rogers.

I have nothing to say, except that if you need a smile (like me) you should binge watch the playing for change videos. For example:

Otherwise, have fun storming the castle.

My love of the Dead is very hierarchical and easily ordered.

In chronological order (of recording) the Dead version seems to be 3rd...

    The original

Extremely early cover from the very young Stones...On the freaking Mike Douglas Show, no less...

    Dead live from '89...

It's the opposite for me. It would be very hard for me to rank my favorite Dead tracks in oder. I like the pigpen stuff, the Keith and Donna stuff and the Brent Midland stuff so it would be very hard to put a static list together. But like you Ripple is a favorite along with Box of Rain. American Beauty was the gateway LP for me.

Haha haha! Box of Rain is number 2!

And since you’ll have to know, Franklin’s Tower is number 1.

    The definitive order is:
    1. Franklins Tower
    2. Box of Rain
    3. Ripple
    4. Shake down Street
    5. Scarlett Begonias
    6. Althea
    7. Dire Wolf
    8. Fire on the Mountain
    9. Estimated Prophet
    10. Uncle Johns Band
After that it’s abstract. Pick your own.

Yes, La Marisoul and Baby-Black-Ndombe are incredible in that.

And then that led me to this:

Music is the universal language and this is poetry.

I get it. I think the problem is that I’ve heard too many versions of it and I don’t find any particularly good.

After a stress filled day starting with client texts pinging on my phone at 6am and finally ending 30 minutes ago, I think I just smiled for the first time all day. Thanks! I am going to listen too again right now.

Enjoyed it just as much the second time.

Music is quite the medicine. I’m listening to my entire vinyl collection in alphabetical order. It’s been really fun and I feel like I’m sharing my childhood music memories with my kids. Hit the “Cs” yesterday and got The Cars and Cat Stevens back to back. Pretty good.

I'm working throuh my 4000+ songs on my iPod. So much more pleasant to listen to favorate music while reading and doing chores I've put off for years. We are big Neil Diamond fans, but he's getting old:

If I played the C's, I'd get some Harry Chapin. I love his music, but all of it is way too depressing for this time.

But the Playing for Change "What a Wonderful World" is what the world needs now. Well, except for the line about shaking hands.
