Not the Homerun hire I'd hoped for (that was Beard), but I like it. Smart dude. Deep experience. Averaged 25 wins/year at Drake and did wonders at WV with no returning players in one year. He's worked for strong head coaches (17 years as an assistant for Altman and McDermott) and then showed what he could do on his own the past 7. Welcome to Bloomington DD. Now, lets get busy!

At my age I think it's prudent to just re-live my past (1970's and 80's) to enjoy IU hoops. I have plenty of videos and little more waiting time.
At least IU has achieved a goal of keeping the basketball program and coach less relevant than the university.

I am not disappointed. This guy isn't Archie Miller. While DeVries isn't my first choice....I definitely paused when his name came up....because I see some serious potential with this guy.
Maybe it will only take three years instead of four for the next change. I guess that would be progress.
