Especially if the consequences aren't that serious.Likely thought taking a deal was an admission of guilt. Might as well try to beat it and save face, or something.
Dude's going to be picking up litter in between shoots for the next year, right?

Most of the apolitical folks in Chicago called BS on this drama of a future hire for drama scam the same day it became public. Only the political race hustling folks swallowed this cray. You believe want you want to believe more than than what is factually true.Posters here jump to unfounded conclusions and that is aided by irresponsible mainstream media like that. I’ve said numerous times here that it’s best to wait fo a few days to see what the real story is. My advice has usually not been followed.
We always say we want famous people to be treated the same as regular folks. If Jussie was regular folks, he'd get a light sentence for this, right?
Beats me. I guess because they aren't violent crimes? I really know little about criminal law.Why are people getting light sentences for faking hate crimes, rapes, etc.?
Beats me. I guess because they aren't violent crimes? I really know little about criminal law.
My guess is he's pretty damaged.I get that and I'm not suggesting there should be an equivalency between actual rape or hate crimes and faking them. But, if the sentence is lenient, what's to deter future replications?
Particularly if you think the guy is still going to have a career. My hope was at least he'd be damaged goods and nobody would want to touch someone like that.
My guess is he's pretty damaged.
If Ben in his wheelchair can drive them 96 yards, Zimmer should be fired before they get off the field. The Vikes are really trying to blow this
In our common sense Midwestern world…he s damaged goods for his fraudulent acts…but on the Coasts, he is a semi-hero for using his crafts to take on the “system”. He will be fine…Broadway, low budget films, politics in San Fran …etc. he has a sympathetic following. In a few years they will be selling his tears on the MSM. They will make a movie about him that rivals the Captain Dreyfus’ drama. It’s what we do in the USA …1000s of channels needing content. The Nazis and Mafia have about jumped the shark. Need some new scripts. My guess is he's pretty damaged.
It's the way of life. The Vikes are really trying to blow this
Can the judge issue fines? That would be most effective assuming he has any money left. You know I'm all for treating the elite more harshly, but a severe punishment here feels out of place.
Yes. Whatever the statute he was found guilty of providesCan the judge issue fines? That would be most effective assuming he has any money left.
The drain on resources for Chicago is/was embarrassing.
It’s not like he lied or paid bribes to get his daughter into USC.No priors.
I am weak in the literature / philosophy sphere. Is there a Greek tragedy equivalent to this drama?….Narcissism? It’s not like he lied or paid bribes to get his daughter into USC.
Committing felonies to worsen the racial divisions in this country might get you elected, but it won’t get you tossed into the pokey.

You do realize that most “lefties” agree these tweets are ridiculous right? Grow up clown

Given the system, he will be sentenced to probation and community service…like writing parking tickets, which in the Chicago traffic courts should only take a few days to cover his $$10s of $$1000s of city expenses he cost the city..not to mention the secondary costs of police diverted from working on real crimes.
Sheeeeeeiiiit. He’s next year’s redemption story. Some will take the view that it’s not his fault, the system forces good people like him into taking such extreme circumstances to effect meaningful change. Some wokesters will take good care of him with acting jobs…My guess is he's pretty damaged.
You know I'm all for treating the elite more harshly, but a severe punishment here feels out of place.
Because he was famous, he did more damage than a regular person could have with his stunt. I hope he gets hammered in sentencing. We always say we want famous people to be treated the same as regular folks. If Jussie was regular folks, he'd get a light sentence for this, right?
Meh. The Dems who "stood with Jussie" look stupid now. Not that anybody remembers in our 24hr new cycle world.Once the rush to judgement had been publicized, the damage was already done, right?
Once the late night talk show comedians had you all crying your big ol salty tears and retweeting the propaganda and calling all your neighbors racists, the damage was already done, right?
But OK - we‘ll all just forget how wrong you were and just trust you next time. Wrong.
How can you tell? Seems to me the Dems look normal. The Dems who "stood with Jussie" look stupid now.
Not to me and I'm a DemHow can you tell? Seems to me the Dems look normal.

Justice prevailed though. Yay America!
The difference is that lefties thought these tweets were appropriate when they tweeted. Jussie’s story never added up but the lefties are way too invested in their narrative to get that. You do realize that most “lefties” agree these tweets are ridiculous right? Grow up clown
100%. That is what could see him do a little time that he otherwise would have been sparedI'm guessing his preposterous testimony in his trial won't help him with the judge, one bit. That was really doubling down on stupidity
What if Jussie was White, what what would his sentence be?Jessie should be put through a special kind of hell for this stunt. Terribly failed Intentional race baiting, inflaming an already burning fire and attempting to manipulate an election. He's a total failure as a human SJW. He even has Al Sharpton shacking his head, saying... "that is not how you do this Jessie, have you paid no attention at all?".
8 months on the show Naked and Afraid teamed up with Hillary. What if Jussie was White, what what would his sentence be?
He thinks he’s a victim of institutional discrimination against millionaire black gay Canadian television stars.Sheeeeeeiiiit. He’s next year’s redemption story. Some will take the view that it’s not his fault, the system forces good people like him into taking such extreme circumstances to effect meaningful change. Its the same crap as always - the elites demanding a particular verdict before trial, and the implied threatening/condoning violence “unless we get our JUSTICE!!!”The difference is that lefties thought these tweets were appropriate when they tweeted. Jussie’s story never added up but the lefties are way too invested in their narrative to get that.
Not entirely true. The Dave Chappelle stand-up bit on this sums up how most people felt after the details starting coming out.The difference is that lefties thought these tweets were appropriate when they tweeted. Jussie’s story never added up but the lefties are way too invested in their narrative to get that.
They tweets were from people who believed the New York Times story. The NYT was incredibly wrong. They deserve the blame. I don't know what Biden and Harris have said since it became clear that Smollett was a liar, but I don't care that much, either.Once the rush to judgement had been publicized, the damage was already done, right?
