Excellent hire. A little stigma from the Hugh Freeze debacle kept him in the G5, but our DBs should be coverage demons. Or at the very least, eliminate those Mind-boggling PI/Holding penalties.
Should strengthen safeties position which was thought to be 2019 strong group but woefully under performed.
He is an excellent hire and we will see how he does coaching safeties and in recruiting. I am glad coach Allen could pull him in to IU and I hope he stays to help move IU up in the B1G.
Maybe now we will see safeties who know when the ball is in the air, and can actually play the ball.
Jones actually has a good deal more experience coaching CBs than safeties, but I think it was pretty obvious during the season and bowl game that SOMETHING had to be done about the safety play
I had thought for a while in late Dec-early Jan that maybe Allen might look at someone like this https://www.scsuathletics.com/coaches.aspx?rc=637&path=football to take over special teams, but in order to make room for Jones it sorta makes sense to re-assign Teegardin over there
