Looking at his profile he shrank one inch but gained 20 pounds. So apparently there’s a lot going on.

Yes - until we see the commitment statement, there is no commitment. Actually, the LOI is the binding commitment.
given that he still has a UCLA visit scheduled, I'm just gonna wait to see what actually happens on this one
And then there is the omnipresent caveat which is none of these commitments are really commitments.
