Jakai Newton called Dakich a clown

Dakich should shut up and leave it to Coach Woodson to hold the team accountable for their performance. Of course, DD is incapable of that because he wants the attention. Not sure a Twitter fight with the coach's family and the players is the attention he's going to want, though.

I may have to get back on Twatter just for the entertainment.

You should. Also, I bet DD would have you on. I'd be curious to see his explanation on why he singled you out on his show last year and gave ya that little verbal spanking.

Think you should go on and defend yourself Court! Heard he's also dared to question a few of your 'attendance reports' from around the league ;)

No I actually don’t see a connection in how a player does on the basketball court and if they are involved with social media.
Did you hear the story about Kopp on an interview with the barstool douche while he was supposed to be watching film? Then he went out and scored zero points in two tournament games as a starter at Indiana.

Seeing through this is too easy for me. If you don’t see it, I don’t have anything else to say.

Was Woody a senior at the time?
Was he the leader in that fiasco or a follower?
Talk about grasping at straws. Woody made a mistake and so did X. They both paid consequences. Leaders can make mistakes too, in fact they do all the time. And hopefully they grow and learn. Can’t tell you how many games X looked like the only one out there who was giving his all. No question he will be leader next year.

He played like one of the best guards in the country in march. He had a bad game in Portland. X will be all big ten next year and most likely 2nd or 1st team.
He was improved obviously, I’ll give you that. Best guard in the country? Further proof you don’t know much about this game.

I get you need to suck up to the players for your “business” but this is an objective conversation amongst people who know what they are talking about. Maybe sit this one out?

Really just depends on the player, context and timing. A lot of Iowa fans not pleased with the negative attention and drama that Jbo brought with all his little social media soap operas.

X cannot be the leader of this team. Kid has talent but he makes terrible decisions on the court.
What I love about college basketball is watching guys grow up over their career, sometimes during the season. X was already the team leader by the time of the BTT. Looking forward to seeing him continue to grow next year (hopefully leave behind some of the acting trying to draw folks).

You wanna stop and realize how insanely lucky IU was to even be playing in the tourney? Maybe try and go above .500 in conference play before bitching about travel

He will be 23 by the time the season rolls around next year. Hopefully we’re able to call him an adult by then.

What business? Me making up a name of cavanaghs corner to give the players money? You have to have them do something for the money.

The new generation of IU fans thinks we should throw a party because IU made the tournament.

The old school thinks getting 30 pieced by an ok St Mary’s team is disgraceful.

So, does IU want to be Iowa or Duke? Only time will tell.

Dakich acts like an idiot for views. I don’t believe his take is entirely wrong.

This years team was massive front runners. Playing the victim card for 5 games in 7 days, while in reality they should accept responsibility for getting suspended at Northwestern and blowing almost every late game situation therefore finishing 9th in a conference named the Big Ten.

It’s not coincidence that X is the Twitter all-star and Miller Kopp loves tic-toc. Anyone see a connection here? Now we’re patting a junior in high school on the back for going at a goofy radio guy?

I don’t even know you folks anymore.
Nobody thinks making the tournament alone as our ultimate goal is good enough to throw a party. Many thought getting us back in the tournament in year one ow Woody’s tenure was a good accomplishment.

Everyone (old or new school) thinks getting beat by 30 is disgraceful. Most just don’t incessantly wine about it forever.

IU of course wants to be Duke but you don’t go from where we have been for the better part of 20 years to Duke in year 1. Incremental steps brother.

Dan is an idiot and his take is entirely wrong as is anyone else who thinks so. First ND isn’t a 1 to 1 comparison to what IU had to do to get to the tournament. Second nobody, NOBODY, is saying we lost because of fatigue alone. We lost because of a dozen or more things and many a bigger contributor than fatigue. But anyone that says fatigue didn’t play a role is absolutely incorrect. X agreed it was not an excuse but then followed it up with “but you play 5 games in 7 days….” He is saying he was in fact tired. He played in the game, he should know.

I don’t get the feeling anyone on this team isn’t taking responsibility. I believe they are.

Blaming the use of Tik Tok or Twitter is like saying they couldn’t be reading a book in their free time. And yes, I am happy that X and Jakai went after a person who is calling out IU players for dumb shit. I would do the same for any of my teammates. F**k Dan.

I don’t know you either.

Most people will write Dan is an asshat on here but if they saw him at the hall would ask for a picture with him. I am not one of those folks. Maybe Dan needs someone to call him a jackass, he says he is treated wonderfully every time he steps foot in AH. He should not be, he hurts IU.
Absolutely.

They weren’t insanely lucky. They played their way into the tourney. They were unlucky during the season, with injuries.

Fake news.

You calling him an asshat will do nothing besides potentially get you banned from AH.

Dakich is a moron and an asshat, but in this situation he is absolutely right. He should have responded to XJ telling them that if the team didn’t have 5 players selfishly get themselves suspended that they may not have been playing in Dayton.

XJ is a big talker and sometimes he backs that up with his play. IU has developed a losing culture, and depending on XJ to change that seems like wishful thinking at best.

Fatigue was a bad excuse for that embarrassing game. Everyone is playing nOn stop currently.

What a bunch of typical negative BS from you.
So EVERY other team in the NCAA played 5 games in 7 days and had to travel across the country?

I will just let Randy Bennett speak for me. Interesting quotes.

“First ten minutes, I didn’t think we were great defensively,” St. Mary’s head coach Randy Bennett said postgame. “After that, we did. I think we wore them down, and I think all the factors came into play with them playing Tuesday and having to travel.”

And this

“I know Indiana won’t use this as an excuse, but the situation they had is tough,” Bennett said. “They were just playing Wyoming, they’re trying to get that win. They just finished their conference tournament. They really didn’t have any chance to prepare for us.”

And

“You could see it on their faces,” Bennett said. “They were gassed, like probably at halftime.”

I bet, if you comment, you will say that is just coach speak and I would agree if it was just one comment but three different comments about the situation IU was in with the amount of games, travel and the lack of time available to prepare. Taking his last comment into consideration, IU was in the game until just before halftime so IMO, it is reasonable to conclude that IU might have been in the game the whole way if the other factors were not present.

It is NOT an excuse, it is the factors that played into the outcome. As someone else said, SM very well might have beaten IU by double digits but I doubt it would be almost 30.

My last suggestion is why don't you take your reversible jacket ass and find yourself another Bball team to disparage.

You would not say one word to his face.
LOL. you really don't know me.

BTW. You must hate the chinfluencer. WTH is he doin doing NIL deals in March, talking about dodgeball on instagram. Growing Facial hair in March???? HE NEEDS TO BE IN THE GYM.

I know the internet was not around when you walked up hill to school, but use that big brain of yours and imagine if it was when your dumbass was in college. You are pretty dense. Ill let you be.

We finished 9th in the conference because of our guard play.
Comparing Woodson and X as players is a fool’s errand for anyone attempting to do so.
I will root like hell for X next year just like I did this year.
His decision making has to improve. Especially in the last 5 minutes of games.
If you can’t see that then …

A friend from school who knows DD called him out in a regular Facebook post. Dan made himself look like a fool in the comment section. DD has burned a lot of bridges for being both honest and dishonest. He’s getting clicks and attention. People fall for his tactics every time. Don’t get me wrong he’s made an a$$ of himself and came out ok by accident too.

right now, making an a$$ of himself is his only marketable skill. And whether or not he has come out ok is debatable, as I don’t think his radio gigs are raking in the money

So Notre Dame had a play in game? Others as well. Losing vs getting embarrassed is two different things and we were embarrassed

That’s really not what I’m saying. I simply am saying he’s gotten lucky by a few A$$hat moments. Like he’s still getting clicks and people still talk to him. Just not as many.
