This one kind of surprises me. For as much as they use the TE, we’ve only got 3 seniors and 2 freshman on the roster. Would have thought Sam would’ve had a chance to get in the field this year.
I think he was expecting more playing time this year and once they recruited over him with the two veterans from Wisconsin and Tennessee, he probably realized they would get the bulk of all the work.
You hate to lose a depth piece, but I understand the kid wants to play on Saturdays. It is a lot of weight room, film room, practice field, to only play if injuries occur. Good luck to him finding a good place and good luck to us not needing to go too deep into depth.

This one hurts a lot. I had (still have) high hopes for West. Just wish it was in a Hoosiers uniform. He has a sky high ceiling and has the athleticism to play on Sunday.
I also expected West to be a contributer, although I have no idea. Darn, a couple of good offensive line guys gone now.
In Cig and Bostad we trust. (And Shanahan and Whitmer I guess also, for TEs.)
