I can’t think of a worse match up for IU. During the first meeting I felt like we had no chance from the tip. Hope I’m wrong

Illinois is the only team I think we’d have less of a chance to beat. Of course, everything fell juuuust right so we’d have to beat both of them, likely, to safely get a bid.
I’d rather be playing Wisky then Purdue.
There are very few “match ups” in this conference for IU that are “good.”
We can lose a lead to any of them and wilt down the stretch. Doesn’t matter what jersey they are wearing.

Classic let down coming off the game versus Purdue. IU players had to have been exhausted after going to the ticker tape parade and White House visit after we beat the Boilers.
I think Michigan has bigs and length that not many B10 teams have. They're effectively able to pull Race and TJD away from the basket. And having both Dickinson and Diabate at the same time, makes it more difficult on both Race and TJD, than normal. Usually one of them has a big advantage depending on who the other teams coach wants to put their big on...this is one of the few teams that has 2 bigs like we do.
So while I agree, part of that blowout was probably that we had a letdown after the Purdue win. I also just think they're the one team that personnel wise, matches up well against TJD and Race.
Illinois has the most dominant big, and then a bunch of really fast, athletic, active guards and wings that can all shoot the ball. They're a tough matchup for anyone. And certainly were for us.
I posted this last night...and I'm more convinced of it now... I'd absolutely rather play Wisconsin in the first round, then Purdue in the 2nd round...than the matchup we got.
We ended our own season by not winning just 1 more damn regular season game...so we obviously didn't deserve a favorable matchups draw. But what we got ended our chances of making the NCAA, in my opinion.
I remember how listless IU seemed to play. They were definitely not up for the challenge. Michigan shot 6-9 from 3 and IU was 1-9. Can't have that. Going to have to do it on defense to slow Michigan down and play well enough on offense with XJ having another great game.
I do a little of both. If I’m being lazy, say like IU was in a game I just watched, I’ll copy and paste. If the level of boneheaded plays is more than the usual, I think up a whole new crock of dumb shit to post for the unicorn and rainbow 🌈 crowd!
