IU Softball player Brianna Copeland Breaks School HR Record

Congrats to Brianna.

On a separate issue, do you remember Taryn Kern who tore the cover off the ball here during her freshman year before transferring to her home state of California and Stanford? I don't know if she got homesick or came to IU to showcase her talent for a west coast team. Well, she's having a huge season with the Cardinal and as of right now her numbers are this:

Batting .359 with an on-base percentage of .511 and she has 20 extra base hits to include 13 homers. Her slugging pct is .813.

It would have been great to have her on this year's IU team along with Brianna.

IU currently is 6th in the B1G with a conference record of 6-5 and an overall record of 27-10, and they are at Wisconsin this weekend which is in 8th place. They opened the conference season by going 0-2 against Iowa at Andy Mohr field, then going 2-1 at PSU, 1-2 at OSU, and they swept Maryland at Andy Mohr going 3-0.

Great recap of the season so far. I’ve been following closely. My wife plays tennis with Avery Parker’s mom, so it’s been fun to watch.
