Speedy game re-watch - Key Chronological takeaways:

-Opening drives: IU punt. OSU 2 plays, TD.

-People forgot: 2nd IU series, IU got away w/Whop fumble didn’t get reviewed. We got lucky, he fumbled’

-After pick #1 of Fields- 4th & 2, IU goes for it, Fryfogle drops EASY catch, would’ve been a 1st down. (He bounced back rest of game!)

-2nd Fields INT - incredible hustle play by DL Jerome James to make that pick!

-Observation: Not only does Penix have quick release, but Stevie Scott picks up lot of blocks. Penix was under lot of duress (all game)

-11 left min in Q2 - score 7-7!

-OSU run game huge, 21-7. Big contrast to IU run game!

-As good as IU Def was, they missed many Fields sacks that led to big plays, & OSU converted many 3rd downs.

-Hard to watch: Ellis Fumble! 21-14? No, IU goes down 28-7 w/SEVENTEEN secs 1st half!

-Q3, After OSU goes up 35-7 Gus: “Let’s see how Indiana responds 35-7?”

-9:40 in 3rd, J Johnson sweet pick, but fumbles at OSU 18! (Uggh!!). Hit the turf man!

-Whop had 2 nice 3rd down catch conversions. (Q1 & Q3) He had nice game overall!

-Fields eluded numerous sacks, turned them into yards. Hard to lock him up.

-End of 3rd huge stop, missed FG, still 35-21!

-58 seconds left in third, Gus Johnson “Penix starting to get warm” (after missed OSU FG) Penix at IU 27, throws long to Ellis at OSU 40...perfect pass...OFF Ellis’ hands! Gus J “So many missed opportunities for Indiana & they’re still in this game!” NEXT PLAY: pick 6!
Now 42-21! End of Q3.

-12:33 On 4th & 10, IU huge pass play to Ellis TD! 42-28

-OSU 3 & out 10:40 left. Fryfogle TD 10:26, 42-35!
-I forgot IU was only down 7 with still 10:26 left!

-OSU gets to IU 16, 1st & 10. Then 4th & 1, IU Holds!!!

-IU 1st down at own 8 yd line, 4:39 & 3 time outs left!

-One first down, Next series nothing! Punt 3:10 left

OSU 3rd & 4 2:25, Sermon gets 5! Damn Needed that stop!

-OSU Punts to IU 22, IU gets to own 38, 14 secs left. Penix pass to Hendershot at OSU 45 - right OFF his hands! That’s it!

IU HAD REAL shot!! Onward!

IU did have a chance to win and if drop passes were caught with the INT and fumble by Johnson along with Ellis fumble near goal line then it would have been IU winning. I am glad coach Allen and coaches keep the team believing despite the mistakes. IU showed they belong on the field with OSU. Keep the mistakes down and IU could win the ret of the season going into the Bowl game.

First half muffs aside, key thoughts for being able to close:
IU was only down 7 with still 10:26 left, then got the ball
at their own 8 yd line, with 4:39 & 3 time outs left!

Not saying it was a gimmie but that’s how very much they were in this game!
