IU Louisville Game Discussion

You might be correct -but it’s for sure UofL isn’t anywhere close to 28 points better than IU. By all accounts, that gym has an unusual configuration, which takes some getting used to. I believe Louisville won this game in July, when they scheduled two exhibition games there to get used to it.

Agreed. I think IU would beat them 1/2 the time with Woodson and 19 out of 20 with a tier one coach.

Yeah...I think I'm gonna probably find something else to do. Honestly hope they find something today, and pull this one out. I'd love to see us play against Gonzaga. But this isn't worth my time.
Yep I turned it off and went to bake bread for tomorrow. At least that was a productive use of my time.

Yeah, it was apparent last season what needed to be done. Buying a top 5 payroll may have saved his job, but it wasn’t the long term solution needed.
The players should have to pay their NILs back for shitshow performances like this! I’m guessing our players are living the usual IU party life and making that a priority over their basketball jobs!

Think Rick Mount. The splendid splinter from Kokomo. On television black and white

saw him up close and personal knock down 40 footers at the old PU auxiliary gym (PU b-ball camp 1988). no joke. i think kip jones or scheffler introduced him as he walked in w jeans and a leather jacket. took it off and started talking to us and draining 3s.

he must've been 50ish then? he kept backing up further and further, near half court. don't think he missed.

I don't buy that. The floor was regulation sized was it not? Baskets 10' high just like the old gym at Hickory?

These guys have all played in gyms from big arenas to small high schools and college gyms and tournaments where there are six courts right next to each other. Playing in a ballroom should not shake them for very long if at all.

I forgot we played. Glad I didn’t watch. I haven’t watched this year anyway. Shitty coach and shitty basketball. About where I was towards the end of Crean and all of Miller.
This is me exactly. It has been a slow drip of apathy that is now cumulative. I went from printing the schedule and planning my calendar around it to not even know we were playing today.

So if a .500 team knocks off an undefeated top ranked team toward the end of the season the .500 team should be ranked number 1?

I don't follow. I was responding to the argument that we didn't play well because the gym was "unusual" in its configuration.

Ah, my bad then. I thought you were making the argument that since Louisville beat IU by 28 that they were necessarily a 28-point better team.

It is a low ceiling ballroom not a gym at all and it is very strange.

Both teams had to deal with it and it was basically a home game for IU.

IU chose not to give a shit and it showed.

One team very familiar with the unique configuration and one not.

Look, I get it - IU fans want wins, not excuses. Just giving you a perspective from a Louisville fan and alum. One team looked comfortable out there, and the other did not.
