It is going to be difficult to change the losing culture that is imbedded in our program.
we won’t turn the corner as a program by jumping higher or shooting better. It’s way bigger than that. Mental toughness, basketball IQ and those other winning intangibles that we see imbedded in cultures of successful programs.

I personally don't think Woodson gets us there..
Very difficult to make that call now. But there are some early red flags.
Repeated late game fades imply some foundational issues with effort, concentration, and accountability.
I have no clue, but I struggle seeing how we are going to change our culture anytime soon by bringing in a bunch of guys that will only be here for a year or two. Rutgers has changed their culture, they have a group of veteran players that have all played a ton of games together (with the same coach) over a number of years.
we may be staring at a lot of new faces next year. In other words, a rebuild.
We brought in a 63 year old coach for a rebuild? Makes total sense.
I'm not buying the coaching piece....yet. You look at the teams we are playing in the BiG and I think we are honestly undertalented player for player. When is the last time we've had a leader to carry us (Juwan?). We don't have a Top 5 at any position in the BiG and TJD probably the only Top 10. You watch that team tonight and similar lackluster games and ask yourself how the hell we've won the 9 games we have.

It was a feel good nostalgia hire for the older Iu players like Kitchel and Hillman. Dolson thought he could throw matta and fife around him and it would work. Its not working
It would work if Woodson would listen to Matta and Fife, but by all reports he doesn’t actually use them for anything.
Well we tried the 40ish guy, how'd that work? I'm putting more and more on these players. Until someone is ready to step up every game, we're dead for the foreseeable future. Bench the starters or do whatever it takes to send a message or build up our young kids because this is the same movie, different coach.
You don't get to pose and play "tough guy" in any game when you lose games like this--you look like a fool. Until this team confidently steps on throats, they are a bunch of posers. Start building the culture now and get the young guys in the rotation, we are done this year.
Woodson got more out of this group than Miller. Too early to call for a new coach. The simple fact is IU's players look good on paper but get rattled if the game is close, complacent if they get a big lead. All that leads to losses when you get to the real competition. It is a sad refrain but they still need a guy that can shoot, better FT shooting and less empty possessions. Maybe expectations would be tempered if they played less cupcakes early on. Then instead of 12-2 to start the Big 10 season it might be more like 7-5. Expectations are different for a team around .500. IU's record is deceiving with a bunch of wins against Podunk Tech. I'd love to see a win at Purdue but I'm prepared for a thumping. Guess time will tell.
We have a bunch of players that have played in a bad culture together for many years, that's what it is. Trying to gain maturity through older players is hurting and not helping us. Purge and start what is coming immediately, we're going to suck anyway, so play the talent and let them learn how to win through losing if that's what we need to do to change that. None of these current players has ever been in a tourney game, in fact the opposite, it's like a culture of the older guys telling them it;s OK to lose out, we went through it too, consoling them probably
You probably won’t have to worry about that with a few more years like this. IU is going to lose an entire generation of fans.

I have no idea if he will turn it around or not. I know anyone that says they know one way or the other after 1 year are the ones who are jokes.
I certainly don’t care if you are the only one or not. However I hope ALL of those that feels the way you do stops being fans ASAP.

The biggest problem is how the heck to you get good recruits to come to a school .that never makes the ncaa. Recruiting will dry up very fast if we miss the ncaa again next year.
Yep. We have good guards committed, however we have no bigs. With Race and Trayce moving on, it’s going to be ROUGH.

We all want IU to win. Blindly supporting a fool of a coach doesn’t make you a good fan.
Woodson needs to win fast like year two next season. This isnt a crean three year honeymoon situation. Woodson is old for one. Fans are already losing interest and we have missed the ncaa six years in a row and counting. There is no patience anymore for three year honeymoons

Calling a coach who has had a pretty successful coaching career through 25 years at the highest level a fool after not even a whole season makes it seem like you aren’t a fan at all.
I am not blindly supporting anything. I have seen enough coaches in many sports and places to know you can’t make an accurate prediction of success or failure after less than a season. If he doesn’t get IU turned around in a few years then I will want him gone as well. I will not call him a fool and I will continue to support IU and him so long as he is our coach.
This isn’t the NBA. He had just as much experience at this level as you or I did. He’s somehow a worse college coach than Archie.
