Love how someone diagnoses something from afar. I often work in food plants and I'll wager I wash my hands more often and more better than virtually anyone on here that isn't a medical professional or OCD. I generally still say my ABC's when I wash my hands with hot water, soap and lather up to and including my wrists/forearm... as they taught us in our orientation class. And, genius, just so you have a full picture to make your diagnosis from, I've never had pinkeye, except while my kids were in preschool, and each time I got it, one of my kids also did. I would agree that I'm especially susceptible to it, as I think my wife only caught it once. Hadn't thought about contacts, but I did wear them pre-Lasic and that might coincide with that timing. Now, with your advanced medical background, does that impact your diagnosis? FWIW, also, since you can't see me, I'm raising one finger on my hand for you to inspect closely right now to determine cleanliness. It's been washed 3X already this morning. Pay attention.
