IU has hit two homers. Lloyd hit a solo homer with two outs in the 2nd, and Kaletha hit a leadoff solo homer in the 6th, with IU also getting another run in the 6th on a FC. Stiever has given up three hits through seven innings, however, one of those hits was a leadoff triple which eventually scored a run. IU has hit into three double plays helping to keep Iowa close.

IU got another run in the 8th on a hit batter with the bases loaded. They had a chance to really blow this game open, but that would be the only run they would score. Krueger is in for Stiever who had another great game giving up three hits and one earned run.

Krueger gave up a leadoff homer to start Iowa's 8th, but knocked them down in order after that.

Krueger got into some trouble in the 9th when Iowa's first two batters got on with singles. However, he pitched out of it with a K, FO, and another K.

Solo homers = Rally killers. Can't remember who said that, but it was true in game 1. Sure wish we'd have hammered one in the 8th to put this one out of reach, but a win is a win. We'll take it and go for 2 in about 30 minutes.
