They moved IU from the last of the 16 1-seeds to No. 12 in the 1-seed pecking order. Iowa and Maryland are the only other teams from the B1G in their projection as 3-seeds, and they have Maryland as among their last five teams in.

The B1G had only two teams in the NCAAs last season with Michigan "stealing" a bid by winning the tournament after everyone had Maryland and Rutgers being in the field. It was kind of a shocker when they left Rutgers out of the field even though they went 44-15 and had a RPI of 44 and it was clear that the NCAA selection committee had already decided to take just two B1G teams. There are some that think that the B1G will get just two teams in the field again this year, although most think it will be three teams.

With the B1G just getting two teams into the Field of 64 last season and with most thinking that the B1G might get three teams into the NCAAs this season, the conference probably took a little bit of a RPI hit tonight with some bad non-conference losses. The B1G ranks No. 6 in the conference RPI rankings right now and they didn't help themselves any tonight.

The MAC went 2-0 against B1G teams tonight with Purdue losing at home to Miami (OH) 8-4. OSU went on the road and lost to Kent State 10-5. IU went 2-0 against both Miami (OH) and Kent State earlier, although Kent State is a Q2 team with a RPI of 73.

I mentioned Nebraska in another thread as a team that fans are not happy campers over when it comes to their head coach Will Bolt. I was using the Huskers as an example of why we should be very happy over how things are going under Coach Mercer right now.

Well, the Huskers probably experienced their most embarrassing loss of the season tonight at home. They lost to South Dakota State 8-3 and the Jackrabbits entered the game with a record of 14-17 and a RPI of 263 and a SOS of 299. The fans are probably screaming bloody murder right now and the heat on Bolt just got turned up big time. Like I said in the other thread, we should feel extremely happy over how things have transpired this season so far for us.

Baseball America also released their Field of 64 projections yesterday and it's close to the one that D1Baseball put out with IU hosting as a 1-seed. They have IU as the 15th overall No. 1 seed. They also have Iowa and Maryland as the only other B1G teams in the field, but they have Maryland as a 2-seed with Iowa a 3-seed.
