IU Game Thread... With Link To FREE Stream From CBS

What the heck was that?? Why waste that time??? Oh boy...

Wont try a 48 yd FG??? What kind of kickers do we have? That was a low % play to end half...why not try a kick? Amateur stuff...coaches blew that...imo

I thought the time was more about going for it on 4th and if you don't get it then you don't leave much time to FIU to counter. So I didn't really have an issue with it. But those last couple play calls with that little time left were definitely suspect.

Overall though, not a bad half.

Run D sucks (and 3 takeaways will hide most issues), but O showed a lot more than I was expecting. Would like to see a better run game with that seasoned Oline but Ramsey has been solid (first pick wasn't too bad in hindsight)

3 points right there was important...big imo...you don't walk away from points. If we don't have a kicker that can hit from 48 yds...that a big hole...big holel…

Play calling fell apart that last part of the last possession. Is this what they're like under pressure? I'm watching you DeDord...vbg

Ramsey is efficient. 17/23 for 144. Has hit 9 different receivers. AND FIU playing cover 3 and giving a 10 yard cushion plays into what Ramsey wants to do. So far so good.

The Oline is winning the battle. 126 rush yards in the first half, so that has to continue. We have a slight edge in the rushing game and the Oline looks much improved.

As I said earlier. Second half, particularly the 4th quarter is when we will see if that strength and conditioning is working. That’s where the strength and conditioning benefits should show in a high humidity environment.

Clock mismanagement at the end of the half - that’s the kind of stuff Wilson always did - what was Allen thinking?? I thought he would be better at this.

Jordan, will anyone in the press bring this up post game, ie, was that a mistake or the intention, and if it was the intention, what possible good thing could have come from the wasted six seconds?

Lots of people saying there was a pretty strong headwind from that distance. Probably not the best spot to test a new K

D looks shaky but has made some big plays and got takeaways. Hoping it's just a matter of guys overthinking and the young guys will improve.

Not noticing the S&C improvements on D. Some of the guys on offense do seem to have more of a burst once they get going.

Offensive looks fairly good. O-Line has screwed up on 2-3 plays but looks solid beyond that. Love Reese Taylor & Whop. Hale's had some great catches. Not sold on our RBs beyond Gest (someone on TOS thought he got dinged up?). Ramsey's had a great game.

We have left some points on the field but we're up 2 scores and get the ball back on the road. We were only 10 point favorites. FIU isn't a bad team.

Meh the playcalling was worse than the clock management, imo

Seems like they aren’t confident in the kicker. Seems like they wanted to minimize the chance of FIU getting the football back. It just really looks like they aren’t 100% confident in either of the new kickers at this time. Oaks not being there could show up.

IU got greedy and tried to run an extra play with 6 seconds. And, they ran a play that ran all 6 seconds off the clock that had no chance. Kick the field goal.

Even more so than issues at LB there are conditioning issues on the Dline. Barwick was 5 yards in the end zone on the touchdown run. That’s not going to get it done in division 1 football, let alone the big ten. That’ll be something to keep an eye on. At times they’re just being physically dominated. That’s more concerning than the Linebackers imho.

Please don't go into prevent offense where we try to run out the clock. Stick your boot on their throat.

Offense has been been a pleasant surprise. I was hoping that the plethora of talent would come through, it has so I'm happy about that.

D has been...interesting. We've had flashes of real good and then drives that just blow us away. I'm nervous, but I'll give the benefit of the doubt that CTA can figure it out moving forward.
