BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Indiana gave the home fans a win in the Hoosiers' first appearance at Bart Kaufman Field this season, jumping out to a 5-0 lead before holding on for a 5-3 win vs. Eastern Michigan on Tuesday.

IU, playing its first of a Bart Kaufman Field-record 25 regular-season home games in 2015, won its sixth consecutive game and seventh in its last eight eight contests.

The Hoosiers will wrap up their mid-week series with Eastern Michigan on Wednesday at 4 p.m. ET. The current forecast is calling for mostly sunny skies and a high of 62 degrees. Tickets are available and can be purchased by clicking here or calling 1-866-IUSPORTS.

In his first career start on the mound, freshman RHP Brian Hobbie pitched four scoreless innings, allowing just a hit while tossing seven strikeouts to earn the win.

IU scored in three straight innings to build a 4-0 lead beginning in the second stanza.

The Hoosiers walked seven times, one short of their season high, including two that scored in the second inning. Logan Sowers scored IU's first run. After advancing to third on consecutive wild pitches, Will Nolden's ground out to second allowed Sowers to score.

Austin Cangelosi, who walked before Nolden's RBI, scored on Isaiah Pasteur's RBI double to right field. Pasteur had his first career multi-hit game on Tuesday.

Scott Donley's first home run of the season extended IU's lead to 3-0 in the third and Casey Rodrigue's RBI in the fourth allowed Pasteur to score IU's fourth run.

Christopher Lowe's double set him up to score IU's final run in the seventh inning, after advancing to third on Sowers' fly out to right field and home on a wild pitch.

Eastern Michigan threatened in the eighth inning, scoring three runs on four hits. After a 2-run home run, Luke Harrison replaced Kent Williams on the mound. Despite giving up consecutive hits and a run, Harrison struck out two straight batters to retire the side and picked up his team-best third save after closing the game out in the ninth.
