Trump spent like crazy, and the worst was the two trillion dollar trickle down tax cut.

Biden spends like crazy too, far too much for my taste, though less than a progressive would have, and arguably (other than the much-needed infrastucture upgrades) even less than Trump did. Though the enormous pandemic spending under both kind of dominates everything and makes it hard to compare.
lmao! Biden would have spent a helluva lot more if Manchin hadn't save the country's ass.

"The US has been grappling with rising prices since last year, when an unexpectedly strong economic rebound from the shock of the pandemic - driven by large doses of US government spending, including direct cheques to households - overwhelmed supplies, prompting companies to raise prices.
Now the war in Ukraine has spread the problem around the world, with Covid related shutdowns in China this spring contributing."

It's well documented gov free cheese increased our inflation.

Free cheese and the war on fossil fuels.

It's silly to think that inflation would not have been high, post the terrible response to the pandemic, whomever the POTUS is. It is high WORLDWIDE, and is actually moderate in the USA compared to other countries.

You also ignore market forces. For instance, another pesky fact: in Nixon's first term, inflation was at 3-4%. In his second term it rose above 11%. Your conclusion would be that second term Nixon really sucked, and if only that guy '69-'72 Nixon guy had been re-elected, inflation would have stayed at 3-4%. Dumb. Almost... DANC-dumb.
Tell me again how the Vietnam war was 'raging' in 1974, genius.

I think some of the pandemic spending was actually warranted. Personally I was laid off in May of 2020 and the larger unemployment benefit was a god send in terms of helping me job hunt in a shitty employment market without having to worry about keeping a roof over my head. If all the money went to stuff like that I would be on board 100%. But Trump’s subsequent relief bill and Biden’s unnecessary boondoggle was so ill advised as to be reckless.

Yep. Spending spree. I used it all to get out of debt. I didn’t buy one damn thing with that money.

I was told by many on here that Jan 6th was just a simple rally gone bad. I mean c'mon it was over in what, three or four hours??? Wuttabout BLM for fvcks sake!!!

Yeah we're going to find out that those remarks were completely missing the point. This was a long drawn out strategy to try to turn an election by any means necessary.

The actual riot was just an unfortunate but predictable outcome, but it's not the story as many on here tried to frame it or justify in their minds.
Trump started claiming months before the 2020 election that if he didn't win, the loss would be due only to election fraud.

What a corrupt egotist.

I was just reading about these proud boys. I know, not suspect, know, that there was some organization in advance but that most of the people that showed up did act spontaneously. I know that as a fact. Had there been more concerted action they would have been probably armed etc. But some people certainly planned. I looked up the proud boys. Apparently after this even their membership applications rose to 300. In total they are believed to have several hundred members on the low side and 5,000 on the high side. No one should be surprised that in a country of 300 plus million there's a 5,000 who are racists, nationalists, misogynists, etc. There are allegedly 250,000 furries in the US. So whatever comes out of this democratic advertising hearing it shouldn't come as a surprise. And anyone who paid any attention to Trump knows that narcissism leads his decisions and shouldn't be surprised that he expressly or tacitly approved of literally anything. That there are congress members who did as well shouldn't come as a surprise. We just recently found out Feinstein doesn't really even know what day it is an she represents 40 million people.

And in two seconds reading about the Proud Boys I've learned that they have banned cargo shorts. I suspect they have better taste than half this board
The Proud Boys and at least one other similar group (the name escapes me for the moment) went to the Capitol to scope it out 2-3 hours before Trump told his rally to walk there with him.

Apparently, the Proud Boys pick a color of the day to wear so they can know their fellows. On Jan. 6, the color was orange, and many of the crowd shots of the insurrection show orange arm bands, orange hunting caps, orange hunting vests etc.

That DOJ website you posted weeks ago is showing a substantial number of these cases cycling through the mill.

Enjoy the Liz show tonight everyone it will be one wild ride and a moment is history nobody will ever forget. The arrests start tomorrow!
Apparently, you don't like to watch Liz Cheney.

If you guys would just admit that Trump and his supporters caused the Jan. 6 insurrection and that it was just as bad as the rest of the world (including Kevin McCarthy, William Barr and Ivanka) knows it was, then you wouldn't have to worry about Liz Cheney.

You also said the rioting was justified and then denied it twice.

You were smart enough not to bet me.

Apology accepted
I never said the rioting was justified but however your inbred brain wants to process what I wrote and whatever upsets you the most, let’s go with that.

Pretty funny that, prior to 1/6/21, you thought Liz was just behind Trump in who you hated most. And your ild refered to her dad as Darth Vadar.

You seem to be a great judge of character. lmao!

These imbeciles want Trump to be their king.

They don’t care that he’s a career criminal con artist and serial liar. It’s not about that. These mooks just want to “own the Libs”.

Everything played tonight is already known.

There will be no referral.

This is just theatre.

Accurate...but just theatre.
I think there may be some new specific connections drawn in the hearing starting Monday, from what they're saying. Maybe they're building up to another major disclosure you'll ignore.

But Barr's and Ivanka's testimony and old texts from pre-asskissing Kevin McCarthy were new to me and don't leave much room for real people to doubt what Trump did. You may not care, but he did it.

If you guys had offered a real candidate who hadn't been afraid to disagree with Trump, Biden would not have won. Could Biden have won against someone sensible like Kasich? Romney? Boehner? Even Pence? All doubtful.

But Biden won against Trump. The Republican Trump-supporters put Biden in office. And, Trump's fundraising success this year along with his doling of his extra money only to blindly-sycophantic supporters tells me Trump is going to run in 2024 -- he apparently expects to be President again and wants to finance a Congress full of Marjorie Greenes and Dr. Ozzes to support his next term.

Maybe.

I think the navy seals and other real special forces wear similar pants with pockets to carry all their specific stuff needed for specific missions, but I'd guess the Proud Boys are thinking more about trying not to look like baggage handlers at the airport.

Grow up. (Emojis are not counter-arguments or brilliant thoughts.)

Could Biden have possibly beaten any other Republican in 2020 other than Trump?

Republicans seem ready to nominate Trump again. Duh.

DeSantis is Trump Light 1.01. Duh.

Who are your Republican statesmen? Your Republican leaders?

Questioned the outcome. You know, like Trump did in 2020.
When did Trump concede? Say what you will about Hillary, but she has infinitely more class than Agent Orange. She conceded the day after the election, she didn't try to reenact the War of 1812.

Show me video of white people being murdered while in custody. Video. Sure, white people are being killed by police. Black people too. All races. I'm talking about being killed in custody. Any mouth breather, like you, knows both whites and blacks die at the hands of police.

I'm talking about cases like Floyd.

Whites on their belly. Handcuffed behind their back. Knee on neck for 9 minutes.

Show me some similar caucasian examples..

13 minutes. Your entire POV is built on emotionally manipulative bullshit. There is a reason you don't know about Timpa and you do Floyd. You should ask why.

Those pesky facts.

And black people commit far more violent crimes on average than white people. A black criminal is probably less likely to be killed by police than a white criminal.

You use the term FACTS, but don't present any. What you did was link to a Washington Times article that made assertions (that you apparently assumed were FACTS), but this article doesn't link to any FACTS. I looked thru it, and they obviously wrote it on the assumption that folks would just take their word for the claims they make. But they present ZERO EVIDENCE for the assertions they make...

Meanwhile, mac "liked" your post, but his presentation of facts was a WSJ OPINION. Full disclosure, I wasn't able to read the actual WSJ Editorial commentary, and maybe they actually cited sources. But if so, why not link to the study or research they're relying on, instead of presenting a clearly labelled opinion as factual evidence?
Let's make this simple. You posted that the summer of love riots were justified, paraphrasing, based on cops treatment of blacks. Systemic racism. The figures don't support that during the salient time period leading up to the riots. Your premise is wrong. They were not justified. They were stoked by media and Dems. Their election not to shut them down was tacit approval. It led to billions in damages, livelihoods lost, over 2,000 cops being injured, and the Defund the Police charade that we're still feeling the consequences of today.

"In 2019 police officers fatally shot 1,004 people, most of whom were armed or otherwise dangerous. African-Americans were about a quarter of those killed by cops last year (235), a ratio that has remained stable since 2015. That share of black victims is less than what the black crime rate would predict, since police shootings are a function of how often officers encounter armed and violent suspects. In 2018, the latest year for which such data have been published, African-Americans made up 53% of known homicide offenders in the U.S. and commit about 60% of robberies, though they are 13% of the population."
Meanwhile Plax clearly linked to the actual study which disputes both of your claims and was published in 2020. So while Plax posted opinion, as did both of you Plax provided evidence while both of you basically linked to other OPINION pieces...

Btw, I seem to remember Plax is from Pittsburgh originally, but has retired to Florida. Not sure of his age, but I am pretty certain he's not a "kid"...

And with regards to the violence at BLM protests, there is a great deal of evidence a significant portion of it came from outside agitators...

An Intercept article which interviewed Former FBI counter terrorist expert Michael Jordan...

"German argued that the impulse to paint both sides of the political spectrum with the same brush, despite the fact that only the far right is actively killing people, is among the most dangerous features of modern American law enforcement. In his review of the documents produced in response to the recent protests, German said purported “threats” from antifa were routinely overblown, often framed vandalism as terrorism and were typically absent of concrete evidence of serious criminal activity.

And this passage points out why it's dangerous for the people on this board who get their NEWS from Facebook (then post it here). And why these stories gain traction...
