Perhaps you could spank him. This is shades of Colin Hartman or Pat Graham.
Never healthy enough to fulfill his potential.
Good thing IU has Joey Brunk this season!

I wish him the best. Has he ever gotten into any trouble? Seems to be a good kid. He’ll be lucky if that torn Achilles doesn’t effect him for the rest of his life. You’re almost never again 100% after that. I sustained only a partial tear almost 25 years ago and I have had lingering pain from time to time since then. Some days it doesn’t hurt at all and some days I will get the soreness there. You just can’t run and jump like you used to. De’Ron might have a couple more decent games before he leaves, but the simple fact remains that we’ll never know how good he could have been. You’ll be better off if you stop worrying about what DD is goin to do for IU. It’s not his fault, it’s just the way it is.
Right now I don't see DeRon playing half of IU's games without injuries.Add me to the list of those surprised DD was not able to get healthy or in shape since last season. My guess is his physical issues were/are worse than we know and they are hoping he can work into shape along the way. But all is not lost.
If he brings 5 fouls and 10-12 minutes so they can rest Brunk and TJD, it still works. And it appears he can still get a basket if they get the ball to him in the right spots. Just be prepared when he misses a game unexpectedly from time-to-time.

At one point when he was healthy he was playing better than anyone else on the team, including Juwan Morgan.
A shame he cant get back to 100

I heard it’s not due to load management.

Who are all healthier than DeRon.His lack of playing is because he’s behind TJD, Brunk, Thompson, Hunter and Smith.

He’s playing time right now isn’t being restricted because of injury.

He's been listed questionable (back) for the last 3 games.Davis isn’t playing in front of them. He’s playing time right now isn’t being restricted because of injury. I’ve been to all the games but one. He comes in and can’t play defense. He cannot defend the high screen. He can’t rebound. He can’t keep up getting up and down the floor. He seems like a good kid. He’s not going to play much.

Quit making crap up. There's plenty of real reasons to criticize him and plenty of real examples to use without that. Your statement about injury is BS.
The group of five I mentioned are all going to get many more minutes than Davis in our front court.
Just stop and take up watching golf or something already

That was a very uncomfortable scene in "Goodfellas". I found myself squirming in my seat, trying to think of a good comeback so I didn't get my brains blown out at a moment's notice. There's nothing quite like a pitbull terrier in human form with a short fuse and little man's complex to ruin a guy's meal. The next thing you know, he might be blowing off the waiter's foot just for the grins and giggles of watching him try to dance.
I don't think I'd put Pat Graham in that category. Sure, he developed some foot issues, but gave us much more than what DeRon has to date or ever will, I imagine. This is shades of Colin Hartman or Pat Graham.

It might be time to put this field horse out to pasture. No stud fees here if you can’t qualify for Keeneland. I do admire his perseverance, though. After watching Archie’s new offense the first couple games I thought we might see Davis like the Duke game scoring at will against two lottery picks.
Maybe it’s a combination of the old Achilles injury plus being out of shape but he’s been like a fish out of water when he gets in games this year. Slow on defense, no rebounding and the ball comes to a dead stop when he gets it on offense.
I must have missed that.At one point when he was healthy he was playing better than anyone else on the team, including Juwan Morgan.

It’s a shame you missed it...poetry in motion underneath the basket, as if DeRon’s spin move was so fluid as to have been something possible to be accomplished only while in ballet slippers. It was really something to behold..a command performance not often witnessed in these parts. Yeah, I’ll say it, too. I missed it, you missed it, we all missed it and therein lies the real shame.I must have missed that.

Until he does, it qualifies as nothing more than aberration. The clock keeps ticking. Once he graduates, he’ll be tearing ‘em up in the industrial league down at the local gym.It wasn’t smooth or pretty but that one game against Duke really gave me hope. I am not sure he’s done anything since that game.

Deron had a stellar game against uofl as well.... 14 points, 5 of 7 fg, 4 of 6 ft. 7 boards 3 blocks....
He also had very similar games against Iowa, Indiana State, Howard, SouthFlorida...All before getting injured
Those stats were Morgan identical despite being a year younger than him
