Leary is advocating for Woody to be back next year, says “it’s only year 3” and he’s still figuring out that college coaching is very different than NBA coaching. Leary has reached out to IU multiple times offering to help with improving shooting but claims IU is not interested. He said he knows the defects in every IU players shooting form (he made special mention of Galloway, Gunn, Ware, Cupps). While he didn’t say this, he implied that Hulls and Calbert should be coaching shooting, and just because they were great shooters does not mean they know how to coach shooting. To me it seemed like Coyle is done with Woody and wants a change. He mentioned several times that this is year 3, not 1, and that the program is regressing.
