How about getting class credits for playing ball? If you study music, you get class credit when you play an instrument, right?
One thing I'm strongly against is paying players. If they think they're getting screwed for "playing for free", then go play over-seas or the D-League. Last time I checked, they don't have $300,000 in student loans that are killing regular students....so they sure aren't doing it for "free."
Also, these guys ignore the MASSIVE marketing they get playing college ball. The REAL money is in the shoe deals.
If they played over-seas or in the D-League, nobody would know who they are. By playing in college, they are building a brand and getting their name out there.
That's worth a LOT.
