Yesterday was a great show with former IU player Pat Graham. He talked about everything from his time at IU, how the game of basketball has changed and also his recent health scare.

Doing better now, Graham suffered a major heart attack just a few weeks ago while on a bike ride - which he loves to do.

"I’m feeling better. You know I mean… it was 2.5 weeks ago and I went on a bike ride and I was on about a 9.5 mile bike ride… One mile from my house and I knew I was in trouble… I was in surgery in 30 minutes. I've never wanted surgery so much in my life. It was scary. No other way to sugar coat it.”

“If what I went through in those three hours didn't change you a little bit, you’re not normal.”

Obviously a big topic of discussion around the sports world has been how high school, college and professional seasons have been cut short. Graham addressed that and how it has impacted his son, Cade, who was a senior at Evansville Memorial High.

"I tell you what, I hate to say it… yes. Sometimes it’s very hard. But basketball is not what basketball once was. The style, the importance, the loyalty. It's not what it once was. I honestly didn’t think it was as big a deal – if this happened our senior years, towns would be shut down because of it. It’s a huge deal, and a huge deal to these kids. Its awful for the kids that are seniors this year. I feel a lot worse for the baseball players and the spring sports than I do the basketball players.... Granted the tournament, 100 percent."

Pat Graham wasn't in attendance for Bob Knight's return to Assembly Hall as he was at one of his son's high school basketball games. He did say he was glad all of the 'drama' was over.

"I thought it was good that Coach Knight came back. It was a long time coming. You know let bygones be bygones and be done with it. Everything worked out for the best. When I got home and saw the video and stuff, it was pretty neat. Everyone can move on and be done with it… The drama has ended.”

“It was good for him [Knight] to come back and get some fresh love from IU. I felt better for the old-time fans. I kinda feel for those people more than anyone.”

Graham, who was a 48 percent career three-point shooter at Indiana, hates how the game has transitioned to a three-point contest. At all three levels, it's all about shooting three's and that is one part of the game he wishes would change.

"The majority of the [today's] workout is based on the three-point line. 15, 16-footers. Kids don’t do that nowadays... The thing I hate about today’s game, you drive it to seven feet and kick it out to anyone on the three-point line. Just shoot threes, it doesn’t matter how good they shoot it. It’s just how many threes you get up in the game, not free throws."

As always, you can listen to the show in its entirety in the tweet below.
