Indiana Kentucky Allstar game tonight in Owensboro.

Yet Another buttblasting from Indiana. How can that hillbilly state claim they "know" hoops, yet the natives are so bad at playing the game? LOL
Isn't it more about population? I believe Indiana has a lot more people in it so they have a greater pool of players to choose from. It's kind of like class basketball. Why can't the 1A beat the 4A very often? It's because of the choice of players in those schools is different. That is my take on it anyways.

It's not a lot. 6.5 mil vs. 4.5 mil. If the series was like 65-45, that would explain it, but population doesn't explain 105-45.

Actually mathematically that would be a sizable advantage and could account for the current record. Think about a team of 10 players and every year I get to virtually ensure I get 3.5 players better than your team (everyone else being equal). That's a steep advantage I would think.

Having a higher population "virtually ensures" nothing. Canada has 38 million people and the U.S. has 300 million. And yet Canada tears us up in Hockey every year. Why? They are better at it because their kids like it more than ours do, and Canada has built infrastructure designed to develop talent.

I can see where society has an impact on what sports kids focus on. Soccer is another one where in other countries it is the most popular sport so kids dream of playing it. Yet in the U.S. it is not as foundational. In high school I went out with a very cute blonde girl and I remember her telling me how much she liked ice hockey. She had been from eastern part of the country, perhaps New York and I remember thinking that her liking ice hockey was a turn off. I just couldn't see it.
How do you count for Indiana being so much better than Kentucky when both states love the sport? I had mentioned population, so if it is not this then how do we account for Indiana being better at least on the high school level?

Ridiculous.

Kentucky kids don't love the sport the way Indiana kids do. There is a reason UK never has any Kentucky kids on the team. Less interest and less talent development. Same reason Kentucky is worse at hockey than Manitoba.

very cute blonde girl and you were turned off because she liked hockey, have you ever questioned your sexuality?
