Indiana got a lot more red this week

Take it easy on mcm666...he's not used to backing so many losing horses at once.

Dude...I think mcm has put you and Mark in the teleportation machine from The Fly to create a single unclebulk creature to be feared and reviled.

No, you don't. Your entire silly rationale is built on the socialist boogeyman. Your entire worldview falls apart when Biden sets up a candidate that reflects the hawkish, centrist reality of his politics.

Yes I do.

I have high standards. I had a choice between Trump and the luny left operating Biden’s puppet strings. I chose Trump. It’s not my fault those were the choices.

when did Wall St, the war industrial complex, big banks and the credit card industry, and big pharma, become defined as the "luny left". (loony left).

if only i had the ability to differentiate total ignorance from total dishonesty, i could far better understand people's posts here, and what's behind them.

that said, neither total ignorance nor total dishonesty are good starting ground for one's political posts, but at least if i knew which are the real basis, i could better understand where people are coming from, and why.

Assuming one has complete understanding of all reality is also not a good starting point. Most people are not dishonest or ignorant. Most people are able to figure out where their interests are best served.

Most people are able to figure out where their interests are best served.

no, most absolutely aren't, and both parties make them pay dearly for that failing.

that said, most certainly think they do, but are flat wrong.

in these cases, it's total ignorance plus blind loyalty that's the culprit.

people grasp social issues. economic issues not so much.

so they assume the party that has their back on social issues, must also on economic issues.

this is the fatal mistake made by most sheep of either party, and why the rich keep getting richer, and the working and middle class majority keep losing ground, regardless of which party wins in the general.

That's a pretty anti-democratic philosophy. If people can't be accountable for their own best interest then our choices are monarchy or anarchy.

Just another idiot according to the cooler?

Just someone who is wildly out of the mainstream. When 99% of the experts take one side, and 1% take the other, there's always a chance the 1% will turn out to be correct. But it isn't very likely.

There’s no one on here qualified to question his intelligence. But that won’t stop them.

Covid, not politics. Twenty-one counties are now in the red (highest) restriction zone. NE Indiana is getting hit especially hard. At least three counties (Marion, Allen, Floyd) have taken advantage of the options offered by the governor's new order to impose additional restrictions on businesses, including limiting restaurant/bar/gym capacity and hours. I assume more will be following suit shortly. It seems the governor is determined not to impose these restrictions on a state-wide level this time around.

I suspect he is trying desperately to keep the economy chugging through the holiday shopping season as much as possible. This is the time of year that really pumps life into the retail world. In restaurants, it's often said that November and December are when you make the money you need to pay February and March bills. But with hospital resources reaching critical limits, I wonder how long he can hold out.
Not the governor’s job to decide that. Will he give up some salary to pay for the small business’s loss? I doubt that. But, obviously people want more government, not less.

I question his expertise in infectious diseases and epidemiology. I am a great chemist but I would be a piss poor astrophysicist. If I lectured on astrophysics, I would indeed be considered unintelligent for the subject at hand.

He's another example of the insane cronyism that defines this admiration.

Altas is what, a radiologist? I'm sure a highly respected radiologist, but he's loyal to Trump and downplays the virus so....a radiologist is now Trump's expert on infectious disease.

In today's 'fake news' the move is to find someone to further the narrative that you want that has an impressive title, to try to give legitimacy to your narrative. You see it all the time in social media and more disturbingly with the Trump administration.

It's dumb and dangerous but Trump rewards loyalty over competency.

It's really no different than taking a stance and then Googling up some link to back you up, but instead of links Trump is finding sycophants.

Remember those days when stoll was a serious human being?
I've watched a number of otherwise sensible people going further and further down the rabbit hole -- stoll and COH being the most egregious -- in their need to defend Trump or (if nothing else) diminish how truly inept, outrageous, and dangerous he has been. The only explanation that makes any sense is the tribalism, the party over country, the fear and disdain they have for anything Democrat.
