I trust he entered the portal in time to be eligible for the ‘23 season as the article indicated. This kid was one of the higher rated Indiana kids from the ’21 signing class and he left UofL after one season. UofL has been a thorn in the side of baseball recruiting for years and kids that come over and do well at IU, e.g. Perkins*, Whalen, hopefully Colopy returns to form prior to injury, and now Bode can help IU compete. Bode and the true frosh Shepard also seem to finally give us flexibility and quality depth at what has been a critical but tough catcher spot. Bode and Tibbitts can also gets there bats in the line up from other positions. Please give us a dependable pitching staff in ‘23.
Perkins and Polard were top 2 coming out of Indiana HS. Both went to UofL. Perkins had injury there and didn’t do much while Polard ended up their front line starter this past year. Perkins showed enough this season to be drafted ahead of Polard, that’s a win for IU IMO.
