In1989 IU went to Purdue a heavy favorite.

That was the year Rod Woodson played both offense and defense. With Purdue leading 15-14 late in the game, IU had a late offensive charge to hopefully win the game. The drive stalled inside the 10-yard line. With time running out all IU had to do was kick a "give-me" field goal. Scott Bonnel was the kicker and he had been great all year. Field goal attempt was blocked. The Purdue crowd went wild and we went home sick. No bowl for IU in 1989. No matter what the season records maybe, the victorious still must block and tackle better than the other guys. Keep the faith and make it a record 3-IU wins in a row for the first time since 1944-1947.
