was if CKW had absolutely no faith that the defense could stop anybody. But things are changing. Yesterday Ohio State started the game with 3 "three and outs". The Hoosier had the lead and were outplaying OSU and they still went with a poorly designed fake punt inside their own 20.

While I think IU should extend his contract I still have serious reservations about his ability to make clear decisions on fourth down. It is like a gambling addiction. CKW seems to have a need to not only pull a big upset but to have a signature play that everyone will point to and say "isn't coach brilliant"

Having said that the players are excited and things continue to improve on defense so give him an extension so we can pick up some more quality recruits. The backfield stable is awfully thin so getting some big recruits is a must. That is not going to happen if there are questions about the coaching staff.

On a side note I checked out a couple (well one) player's Facebook page. Maybe what could be construed as gang signs and showing off new tattoos is not such a good idea.

I'm not sure if Wilson's strategy is just a product of the defense or maybe just to put pressure on the other team. They probably think these guys are crazy and liable to do anything. I think it put pressure on the other offense and maybe forces them into playing above their comfort level. Could be why as the defense has improved the turnovers have started to become a factor.

Giving OSU a gift possession inside IU's 30 puts pressure on their offense? Uh, sure it does.

I know you are not very bright so I can see why that went right over your head. We will see but I think it is possible that with a better defense we might see even more of that kind of thing.

There's absolutely no logic behind your statement that faking a punt deep in your own territory puts pressure on the opposing offense. No logic or rational thought. None. It's likely why you couldn't explain it. Lol.

Here's what I don't get... Why gamble from your 10 yard line where even if you pick it up you still have to drive 85 yards for a TD... but before half we are on their 40 and have a short 4th down and take a penalty to punt and net 20 yards in field position? That was one of the dumbest calls I've seen in some time. Just incredibly stupid.

Punting the ball with time running out in the half and possibly making the field 40 yards longer made sense to me

The fact that our punter ran the wrong way may have made it look more poorly designed than it was, add into that, our punter had a less than average day kicking the ball, we were punting into a very stiff wind and they nearly broke at least two others for TD's (and the same returner did run one back for a TD last year in a very similar situation against us). I'd say if you saw something on film that you thought you could exploit, it wasn't a bad time to try it, only need one yard and it's certainly unexpected. I think your psychoanalysis of CKW might be a stretch, he's just doing what he thinks he can to win the game, when it fails the armchair QB's will always disagree.
