6-10 280 lb Kofi Cockburn (I know, I know) from Virginia....rated #33 in the 2019 class....

They also reinstated Tevian Jones, a very athletic, borderline top 100 freshman who had been suspended for 8 weeks for unspecified reasons.....probably makes them better......we play them at Illinois the last game of the regular season, March 7th.

Its too early to talk much about next year, but UM, MSU, OSU & MD should be very good, and Purdue RU & Illinois should be better. Nebraska & PSU will fall off greatly...the PSU coach may get fired. Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin and NW should all be meh.

Mich, MSU, and Maryland will lose a lot.

Of course, we also lose our 2 best players.

I wonder if Nike rolled money into his parents’ AAU team? That’s the way Illinois sees it for every university but themselves.

I'll still take Brooks..
Brooks fell in the rankings. .
But from what I saw of him . This year he'd improved..He belongs in the top 20.
Guy has length. And handles.. With shake and bake moves..Along with a sweet mid range jumper .....
If we get him..
That's a big get.

I don’t know if PU will be improved as I think Edwards will declare early. Perhaps that is just wishful thinking but I don’t see him really improving that much with one additional year vs. risk of injury consideration. This upcoming draft is projected as a down year.

Do you forget all the talk about when Duke landed Bagley doing the same thing with Nike?
No, I don't remember that.
I wasn't posting here when that went down, but I will say, because it's talked about on this particular board, doesn't mean everyone thinks it, because it was never mentioned where I posted at.

Are you questioning that it happened or merely the talk? Because one google search will solve that issue.....

What does Bagley have to do with IU in ANY way? Did IU even offer?

Good lord kid, you make up a lot of sh*t......

Although his slight towards IU fans talking about it before and not anymore, is annoying....... I think his point about Bagley was to state that Romeo wasn't the first to have this Apparel AAU situation go down as Greg looks to be implying. I could be wrong, lord knows I have been before.

It was a BIG deal. Hundreds of messages about how dirtying Duke is.

And for the record I had no problem with it then and have no problem with it now. Just calling out the bias and double standard.

Nike funded Bagley’s AAU team just like Adidas funded Romeo’s. Same situation. And when it came out this board crucified the kid and Duke/Coach K. Just pointing out the double standard.

A few members criticised the situation. What caused much of the comments was the fact that Bagley's family moved into a upper income home shortly after his commitment. The same thing occurred with ZWilliamson's family. This has not happened with the Langford's

You mean every board. There was no education on the circumstances so off the headline alone, everyone felt that way. I don't think it's a double standard as much as not understanding the situation. PU is just as guilty.

Post the messages you are talking about.

Indystar even did an article or two on it. Romeo left whatever AAU program he was playing for, and joined a new team that was coached and run by Romeo's dad. Adidas paid Romeo's dad as part of sponsoring the AAU team.

Marvin Bagley's dad did the same thing the year before. The NCAA has said this is not a violation. I don't recall the board saying anything about Bagley, but I also probably wouldn't have read a thread like that. I certainly don't trust FP's recollection though.

In a classic FP move, less than 60 messages, most of which don't involve any crucifixion, turns into HUNDREDS of hypocritical IU fans who screamed bloody murder until Romeo announced.

There's one other post about it I could find, which had 9 more messages. Most of the objections are mild...some are even apathetic to the situation. But, in his never-ending quest to claim his place as the only honest poster about IU, FP has created an entire fan-base in his mind, consisting of hundreds of voices, which he uses as a straw-man chorus of hypocrites, standing in contrast to his own ever-growing legend as an unrecognized genius who tried to tell us...if...we'd...only....LISTENED...to....him.

Is anyone keeping track of the number of false or exaggerated statements he's made?

Iowa will not be meh. they lose Baer a former walk on and replace him with top 100 Patrick McCaffrey, these are RS'ing that will join the team
SO Nunge
FR Fredrick
JR Pemsl
they will have 5 SR's on the team unless Cook turns Pro. then their is the PG Troussaint out of NYC who is rated the #1 PG in the state by the local papers and #5 overall.

his HS team is the #1 school in the states largest class. by the local talent evaluator he is the pg that Iowa has needed the last few years as he is a lock down defender and dribble drive penetrator.

No, I wasn't implying Romeo was the first.
I was stating that I had never heard anyone criticizing the Bagley situation on IU boards.

I would guess 30% of all his posts with an additional 60% defending his ignorance. 10% are tolerable...must be when the meds are working.

I'm questioning that 'hundreds of IU fans' criticized Duke, but were okay with it happening here
Coach Dunning-Kruger deals in hyperbole and exaggeration constantly. Generally by using the descriptor "them" "they" "this board" "people" and always with himself as the all knowing, all seeing, wise guiding light of perfect never erring knowledge. He's also blessed himself with the uncanny superpower to see into the hearts and minds of all coaches, players and internet posters, and the ability to predict the future after it happens and/or change the past as it fits his needs.

The situations were not comparable for that reason. And there were nowhere near "hundreds" of posts about it. That guy makes up a lot of chit.
