....-and he had basically lost 10 straight big ten games in his second year this board would be an inferno!!!!!

Alford goes to 3 sweet sixteens in 5 years at UCLA but Arch going to an elite eight makes him a superior coach? Huh

Alford has a 15-17 season at UCLA and people here say how awful he is, Archie has a losing record in 2nd season and people say he’s still a great coach.

If Alford was hired I would be saying the same thig because I think coaches need 4 years before we call for coaches to be fired. I would have been against the hire just like I was on the Archie hire so I would have given him time.

Umm if Archie had a 17 some year track record and was fired/despised at his one P5 school, from the same f#$king conference that we play in...

Yeah, there would be a lot of people against that move.

His track record isn’t that bad. From a wins and losses perspective and he’s coached in real conferences not the pathetic Atlantic 10

He was just fired mid season from UCLA.

Yes, mid season.

It was so bad they just said mercy, get the F out now.

That's extremely rare. He was hated there, probably even worse than he was hated at Iowa.

While he wasn't technically fired from Iowa, he jumped to a lower conference before he could be...which is again extremely rare if he didn't see the writing on the wall.

Matt Dororty is available. John Groce is also.

They interest you too?

Those guys didn’t go to multiple sweet sixteens did they!

I know those sweet 16's are hard to come by at UCLA.

Plus he had multiple 5 stars each year which I was told by the resident expert is all you need to win.

How about Isaiah? He's got NBA HC experience, one of the greatest of all time, college experience and the name to recruit like Penny Hardaway or Patrick Ewing (who I'm actually rooting for) or Chris Mullen.

Yea like what people do in California is ever reasonable. They hated Alford cause he was from the Midwest and was Christian.

Hardly the coaching experience of Alford/ has taken 4 different schools to NCAA

You gave Crean 8 and a half years before you quit proclaiming him the savior.

Alford would do better at IU than he would anywhere else.

It just fits. Indiana kids would line up to play for him.

The obsession with alford by some is so strange. Why not pine for fife or Michael lewis or any other guard from Indiana that played here? At least those guys havent proven they are mediocre coaches over and over and over again. Alford has done exactly jack sh*t to show he would give iu fans the kind of program they demand.

Archie may not be the answer...but Alford has proven he isnt either. To think he would magically become an elite coach here because of some wet dream you had about socks shorts swish in 1987 is f*cking bizarre and I hope you get help.

You wouldn’t take a 31-5 season???? How long till Archie gets us 30 wins?

I think it would probably help him being where it all started. There wouldn’t be the immense pressure at Indiana that he had at UCLA. Atleast not at first anyway. Alford is a good coach before UCLA he was successful at New Mexico. That 2017 team was very good, had they not run into us they could of made the final four. A lot of Indiana fans want that sense of familiarity and to gain something back that involves Bobby knight.

There wouldn't be immense pressure on steve alford if he was the coach at iu? Are you serious with that crap?
