First of all, I love wins where we don't play particularly well. We've lost so many "moral victories" where we've outplayed the opponent but lost games on a late play or two.
Second, we gave away three TDs yesterday. Two plays where no one covered the tight end on a short yardage situation and one on a blocked punt. These are correctable mistakes, and they WILL be corrected. And then, in the final seconds a freshman CB, in his first game, hits the receiver at the goal line and saves the win.
I'm the very opposite of TD75 and those who see nothing but negatives. This is EXACTLY the game we needed. We didn't fold when the cards were on the table. This game taught this team more than a 30-point blowout would have. Once down, we showed guts, and we showed character.
We'll see how the rest of the season plays out. I see youth but I also talent on this team, and character. I see nothing that convinces me that we can't go at least 6-6.
