I watched Armaan play last night against Ben Davis in Indy. He is going to be a solid Hoosier.

What I like about him is that he has good, quick hands on defense. He is opportunistic and he goes hard for loose balls. And he is a sizeable guard, which should translate well.

Offensively, he shoots well and looks to shoot a lot. He also gets to the rim in a fluid motion which should help him draw fouls.

Unfortunately, he missed the buzzer beater for the game, but it was off a hustle play to grab a rebound and get one last shot.

Weaknesses, well, don't we all? He is not a great ball handler, and didn't move well without the ball. Also, I though he could probably be a better rebounder.

But overall, I think he is a good recruit for the Hoosiers and should help with shooting early on.

I've enjoyed the few games I have watched of his. He has nice size for a guard and should be able to play at the next level pretty well. I too am looking forward to him being a Hoosier.

Not saying he is as good as Poole of UM but he kind of reminds me of his game and is the same size guard.
Some guy on another board said he is the best Indy player he has ever seen. Granted that is a big stretch but he is obviously way underrated.

Also lost the ball on the next to last possession which
proved critical.

I dont understand why it takes 1 to 2 years to learn the packline. Thats a load of bull. Did it take UL players a year to learn the packline? They are poised to win by holding an opponent under 50. Does it look like he can at least guard a chair and not lose his man on defense for a wide open dunk?

Well either our freshman are terrible or they are not learning Archie’s system very quickly.

I was there, too. That was a good game! That was a tough shot for Armaan at the end. I thought Dawand Jones was going to rip down the goal after his dunk. The other Franklin on Cathedral is maybe 6'0, and he got up and dunked one in the 1st half. Jalen Windham is a nice player and looks like another one of those underrated Indiana players. There is so much good basketball around Indianapolis.

I think Armaan was like 4-5 from 3. He can shoot, but I don't think he is a lights out shooter at this time. He is really long and and athletic for a guard, kind of like Greg Graham, and he does get after it and play hard: tough to not to like all of that. Like Greg Graham, I think he needs to work on shooting and ball handling to take it to the next level. If he does, watch out. Looks like a nice pick up.

There is Oscar Robertson and then....well, let's just say he didn't see Attucks back in the day.
(Neither did I )

If he turns out anything like Greg Graham, I'll be thrilled. Those early 90s teams are my favorite ones and he was my favorite player on them.

I saw the game on TV....

I generally like the kid.

I would have liked to see him be more competitive on the boards. I wouldn't say he "shied away from contact", but he wasn't as involved on boards as I would have like. I also think he lacks elite quickness.

On the other hand, I thought he was a better ball-handler than some on this thread have said, and he appeared to be a willing and somewhat skilled passer. Prior to the last, desperate, shot, I think he had only taken 1 bad shot.

On the only dunk I saw by him, he looked to be an explosive jumper.

His 3s were open, but deep, and he was hitting them....for the year I believe they said he was hitting 38% of his 3s and 74% of his FTs. Again, I liked the range he showed in the BD game.

I thought he was a willing defender, and showed good technique....however, the Windham kid scored a good # of points over him., so I wouldn't describe him as a 'shut-down defender'.

I liked his demeanor, which I think is an important matter concerning the issues we've had with this year's team. I didn't see anything unusual or special about his demeanor......just no James Blackman/J. Smith/D. Green red flags. Seemed engaged, coachable et al.
