With Trump is sucking me in each day. It is both exhausting and entertaining at the same time.
Spending way too much time watching the news channels and monitoring Twitter. Each day when you think it can't get worse this group outdoes themselves. I'm ready for a cage match between Mooch and Banyon. The winner gets Trumps love. Sad times.
I get what you're saying, but this is high stakes. This ain't the OJ trial or GoT. This is serious shit. I wish we didn't all have to go thought it -- and I hope a way is found to come out of it okay -- but I can't not stay on top of it.

That's what people keep telling me to just turn off the news, stop paying attention. I feel like it's important to understand what's going on though. Every single day, when I've devoted way too much time to news articles , twitter , tv, etc. I think, ok now I've heard enough about this, tomorrow I'm not turning on a thing. And sure enough, tomorrow brings a new shitstorm. I would love be to see some type of chart that keeps track of every single newsworthy thing that has happened in the last 6 months.

Most of us did on Nov 8th, 2016. Some couldn't stray from their tribe and others just stood by and let it happen, pretending they kept their hands clean and had nothing do with it.

Former Minnesota congresswoman Michele Bachmann was a guest on Jan Markell’s “Understanding The Times” radio program this weekend, where she couldn’t stop gushing about President Trump and his supposed deep commitment to God and prayer.
Bachmann claimed that, since the inauguration,Trump has been “working nonstop, 70 days in a row, [he] hasn’t taken a day off” as part of his effort to make America great again and to take a stand for God.
“He is unashamed in standing up for increasing an awareness of God in the United States,” she said. “He recognizes how important that is and that that is a basis of Western civilization … As a believer in Jesus Christ, I could not be more happy with what I am seeing coming out of the Trump White House. This is beyond my wildest expectations.”
“The president himself is man of prayer and man who loves to receive prayer,” she cooed. “He is a man who, I do believe, understands who the God of the Bible is and he wants to lift up the God of the Bible here in the United States … The Lord is working mightily in our government and I believe it is because God is being reverenced, God is being lifted up. Prayer is not foreign in the White House, it’s not foreign in the Executive Office Building; looking to God, looking through Bible studies, this is not foreign anymore.”
Bachmann said that Trump deserves all the credit because “he is somebody who gets the fact that the God of the Bible is, He is, He exists, He is real … This president is very bold about the need for God in our country.”
Bachmann was among those who met with Trump in the Oval Office recently, where she said they were able to present “the faith perspective voice” to him and explain that enacting public policies based on biblical principles will “be the best for America.”
“I’m shocked at how happy I’ve been with what I’ve seen so far,” she said. “I really believe that it’s because of prayer. I totally believe it’s based on prayer. He’s president because of prayer, the advances we’ve seen are based on prayer and I think, going forward, that is what we need.”
Maybe so but that's how the Trump World sees it. That's 85% of all Republicans according to his latest approval polls -- unless they are incredibly slow learners?
How do you go forward and work together in a world so divided?

What God? What prayer? She ought to know that Trump doesn't pray.
Has our so-called president offered a job managing a newly opened massage parlour or an escort service in China? Is that why he is flattering him? I wish she left out God and prayer in her praise of Trump. The God I know does not approve of massage parlors and escort services.

Thats the amazing thing thats going on here. Either the Trumplets are very selective readers/memories or they have serious cases of cognitive dissonance.
I can imagine the Democrats doing this more because of their tendency to rationalise or intellectualise their causes/ideals. (Bill and his blow jobs.)
The Republicans are more principled based people and this rigidity won't allow such confusion.
I remember a certain channel and a certain party losing their collective shit when Michelle Obama pointed out a fact that the White House was built with use of some slave labor. I wonder how the so easily offended will react to the White House being called "a dump". I bet it'll be *crickets*

I have never seen this little respect for a neophyte POTUS before... but it's self inflicted with all his lies, incompetence, ignorance and lack of humility.

No, they just can't get anything done because no one can form a viable coalition. We should also remember that most (but not all) members of Congress have decent individual approval ratings within their districts. It's only the body as a whole that has such a horrid reputation.

Actually, I just looked at the Gallup -- the disapproval numbers have come down, albeit a low baseline. The disapproval rates were consistently in the high 70s and low 80s.
Its dropped to the 70s under Trump.
Maybe that 10% upswing is an indication that they are perceived to be actually trying to do some work? Or maybe its only temporary.

Actually, Congress has done a few decent things recently IMO working together. The Russia sanctions, the blocking of Trump to make recess appointments. Those two have to infuriate Trump. I honestly don't see a path to it getting better for him. Did you see that Kelly and Mathis will never leave the country at the same time so Trump always has a baby sitter? Doesn't seem to be doing much good, unless they can keep him off twitter.
From unemployment rate drop of 45% to 3.5% in six months is quite the achievement in my books. If I remember correctly, he called these same job numbers faked under Obama.
And if people think Mazda, Toyota and Foxconn just decided to spend billions of dollars because of Trump, then there are a lot more fools beyond his base -- this aint discretionary spends here. Its budgetary planning that needs to be allocated several years ahead before actualisation.
One thing is he keeps shouting about the Dow records -- this was a mistake the Obama and HRC made as a sense of achievement to the working class. I guess it shows that Trump really had no clue how he won.
He really did outsource it to the Russians.
The Right is openly talking about actual Civil War in Trump is kicked out of office.
They'll never turn against their hero because no matter WHAT bad happens, he'll blame it on others and they'll believe it 100%......even if it was his policies that directly caused it.
