How would RMK have handled NIL?

At first glance I think he would hate it. However, I seem to recall he was not in favor of the 3 point shot but then he adjusted his style of play to get the ball to Alford in the open and won a National championship

He did have a pragmatic side.

My guess is he would not have really objected to players getting some compensation for the value they bring to the university, but he would have hated the circus and distraction of the way it's being handled. He wanted players focused on school and basketball and nothing else.

My guess is that if it would have come about anywhere around 94-95, he would have called it a day and started his retirement.

I actually think he would have been okay with NIL...especially if it meant raising money and awareness for charities (the way Hoosiers For Good is supposed to work). He was all about raising money for the library when he was in Bloomington.

That being said, I think he would have HATED the transfer portal. He wouldn't have had a team left after the first week of practice. LOL

I agree. Knight was a problem solver and opportunist. He would’ve taken as much advantage as he could. The portal is a problem.
