How to increase enrollment at public elementary schools

This reminds me of the Finnish PM controversy. Sure you can be a 36 y/o woman who likes to drink a little and take mildly inappropriate photos (appears she was at least smart enough not to put the good stuff in the cloud) but not WHEN YOU'RE THE PM OF A NATO COUNTRY.

Apparently appropriateness is now cancelling someone. Christ.

I did enjoy this quote from the attached

Dew, who plans to relocate and teach in South Korea next month, scored over 1.8 million TikTok views on a “how-to” video about reimagining her flirty finery into fits that often get a thumbs-up from her school’s principal.

Uh huh. Suddenly relocating are we?

I know I’m the old guy yelling at clouds, but when did wearing pants and a shirt with buttons become a bridge too far? We have a new dean of students who is seldom seen wearing anything other than sweat pants. To work. We don’t have to dress the Monopoly guy, but a little professionalism isn’t that hard.

People always have to have something to complain about.

I didn't see a thing wrong with any of those pics in the story. Sure, we didn't get to see everything posted online, but there again lies another issue. As long as teachers aren't posing nude or semi nude pics for everyone to see, why are people upset with what teachers are wearing while posting on their own private social media accounts? From the pics in the story, I didn't see anything that I didn't see when I was in school. Sure, my teachers were older, but the teachers wore clothes that were form fitting that we could see their figures.

This seems like more cancel culture to me.

I don't think teachers should be fired for ANYTHING they do on their social media accounts/ etc. outside of school (as long as it isn't calling out a child or something). Want to pose nude? Go for it.

How about not giving $5K-$6k per child to middle class families for private school? That is where i would start.
I think threshold is $150k a family, then it goes down from there.....don't know exactly, one i make to much and two, most private schools in the fort are not good

Hey now. I’m using one of those right now for my daughter. The public schools in my area are deplorable right now.

The private she’s at has been rated an A every year from 2016-2022. The publics range are always C-D. It’s a no brainer.

As a college professor, not one day have I ever worn, at work,
a shirt that did not have a collar,
sandals or loafers instead of work shoes,
no socks,
anything other than real dress pants or casual pants with a belt.

It's not that hard to dress like you belong there

From the article, these are grade school teachers, so a little different situation.

From the pics in the story, the only one that wasn't in dress attire was the first, and that was of the lady in what looked like a school tee and jeans, which was acceptable when I went to school for school spirit.

This seems like people complaining just to complain.

Let's face it. Some people just can't deal with too much booty.

I work at a fairly large law firm, with offices in several states. We just announced that jeans are now permitted every day, if your schedule allows (e.g., you obviously cannot wear jeans to court or meetings with most clients)

When I first started practicing law 30+ years ago, I was told the firm had two casual dress days per week: Saturday and Sunday. Hell, my freshman year of high school students had to wear ties to football games (the rule changed after the first game and some alums were livid).

Change is good.
