How to get rid of Jehovah's witnesses at your door

answer the door nekked and say "welcome to the Swinger Party" as you open the door!

When I lived in Bloomington, over 30 years ago now, there was a time when the Mormans aka Latter Day Saints were very persistent.

We still get Jehovah's Witnesses now and then. I tell them I don't believe in fairy tales.

Growing up, we'd get the JH probably 1-2 times a week. I was over at my best friends house when one set came and his mom thought that if she interacted with them (I want to say she bought something from them, do they sell anything going door to door?), thinking that if she did, they would finally leave them alone.

She was wrong.

They started coming to their house twice as much. It was the funniest thing to see. Whenever they were down the road, they would close up all the curtain and turn off all the lights like no one was home. I always laughed because they would have 3 cars in the drive, so someone was obviously there.

Thats a story we still talk about.

Naked Woman Chases Jehovah’s Witnesses Off Of Her Porch And Down The Street Yelling, “Succumb To My Devil Vagina Magic!”

From the enclosed pic, it was indeed a frightening offer

When we lived in Kokomo before I went into the ministry we had a couple of the JW ladies knock on our door. I spent an hour with them arguing about how their Jesus was not the true Jesus of the Bible. The left. About a year later they came by again and didn't recognize me right away. Then one of them suddenly looks like she is in shock. Her eyes got big and they were only there a couple of minutes.

on that note, i don't think your Jesus, or the Jesus of the Christian right, is the Jesus of The Bible either.

you guys seem to think Jesus thinks life should be better for billionaires, worse for the common man, prefers dictatorships to democracies, and if here today, would spend his days at the southern border with an AR 15, making sure no immigrant gets into a closed exclusive club.

Christ is about being a Savior for sinners. It's because as sinners we are at enmity with God. Romans 8:7-9 says Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God. But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His.
Now do I believe that Jesus has opinions on issues? Sure. But most of the times when it is political I won't die on that hill. Is abortion a political issue? Some like to make it so, but I believe in what the Lord had David write in Psalm 139. I look to John the Baptist being in the womb of His mother and he was full of the Holy Spirit when Mary met Elizabeth while being pregnant with Jesus. Pieces of tissue are not full of the Holy Spirit. It is reserved for persons.
You bring up the southern border but please try to see what it would be like to have land and the people who are pouring across the border. Are they tearing up your land, your property? I can see why these people are sick and tired of this happening. "How many times do I have to rewire this fence".
I don't see how Christianity is for billionaires because the Lord Himself said in Matthew 19:24
Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.”
What many conservatives want is for fairness. Why demonize people who make money? The Bible teaches us in one of the Big Ten "Do Not Covet" If people are coveting what the rich have and want to use the government to take it from them then yes I have a problem with that because it is sin.

They were everywhere with the watchtower stuff. My dog was mean so they had to work for it.

i notice you and the other CHINOS put your faith in being pro forced birth, as exempting you from all else Christ preached in how we behave with others.

not hard to figure out why.

being generous to those with less, loving thy neighbor, and much else he pushed for, would require at least a beyond minimal sacrifice on your part.

beyond minimal, is infinitely more than you or the other totally self consumed CHRINOS would ever so much as consider putting out.

on the other hand, being pro forced birth, requires absolutely zero sacrifice or effort on your and other CHRINOS' part, so you fully embrace it as hopefully giving you a free pass on not embracing or living the other things Christ pushed for 100 times more than forced birth.

and once the fetus is birthed, you and the other CHRINOS are done with it for good, which only reinforces that it never was really about the fetus to begin with, only about using forced birth as a hoped for substitute for all the other things Christ pushed for, which you and the other CHRINOS want absolutely no part of.

try and be a better person in the future.

Not true. Many Christian organizations will help single mothers. Those on the left attacked some of the places after Roe went down. Also there are Christian ministries which will find adoption for these babies.

I assume you mean stop JW's calling at your door rather than 'getting rid', so to speak. One suggestion may be to invite them in to your house for a discussion and encourage them to stay for some time. That way they won't be able to get round many more people that day and if you happen to behave a little oddly at the same time you might build up a reputation and hence they will never bother you again. Last time our cat went missing we gave them a bunch of leaflets to deliver, door to door. They've not been back. Our cat turned up, though.

Maybe they have not seen Pulp Fiction?

Otherwise, it may scare the bejeezus out of them.

Inviting them in is NOT the solution.

When my oldest daughter was a teenager and my wife and I were out of the house, she let in the Jehovah's Witnesses, talked to them, and took their literature. That got us marked as a house for them to visit often in the future. It took repeated and forceful "no thanks" efforts to get them to leave us off their future rounds.

I just tell him the truth. That one of my ancestors was allegedly in the mob that attacked the jail and killed Joseph Smith.

“Not sure if that’s true. Not sure if it ain’t. Come on in and let’s talk about it.”

My wife was raised Catholic, and when we first lived together back in Bloomington, the Latter Day Saints (aka Mormons) would come around often. I didn't know this at the time but my wife did, I guess the LDS are particularly negative toward Catholics. So my wife would say "We're Catholic, I can talk with you about the Blessed Mother Mary". That would send them scurrying away.

Why would Jehovah's Witnesses care about your ancestors' relationship to the attackers of the founder of the Mormon Church?
