I have never experienced firsthand the stress that football coaches face recruiting down the LOI stretch. So much to balance. Can they be completely up-front with recruits about where each guy stands "in the pecking order", letting prospects know that they are the number two or three choice, yet keep a kid waiting for number one's decision. Any current or former coaches on our board who have insights to share about what these last several days are like? Each kid and every coach has his own competing priorities to be met, so plenty of conflict to be resolved. How do coaches deal with all of it?

A coach at one of the better football schools in NE IN told me that the IU coaches pretty much tell the kids who is ahead of them and where things stand with those kids, etc. He thinks the IU coaches are building good relationships with most of the state HS coaches.

Thanks for that info. I appreciate how our staff communicates with prospects and super to know that state HS coach have a positive perception of our coaches.

Re: They are paid extremely well.

Wonder how the celebrate after this marathon has been completed?
