Call me out of the loop, but I had never listened to the Hoosier Hysterics Podcast before today. However some of the people on X that I follow discussed it and I gave it a listen. It was a pretty damning account of the Woodson era and anyone that loves IU should be a bit sick over the entire process from his hire, to the way he treats the people around him. Just seems completely unacceptable and the podcast seemed to come to the conclusion that the only way Dolson gets to actually do his job, is if public outcry gets loud enough.

It definitely paints Woodson in a horrible light. Being lazy and entitled is one thing. The man seems to lack any self awareness. Thinks he's doing a good job.

I'd say the Cignetti hire combined with the shit show this season will likely become will give Dolson all he needs to fire him at seasons end.

Can Dolson fire him?

If he can't, then he's not really the AD and he should resign.
This was brought up and apparently it was a sensitive subject to question Woodson, and Dolson may have lost his job in doing so before this season. The winds are changing though, and it may be a different story if the fans stop showing up.

I think that changed the second Buckner is gone. Even the big money donors have to know better than anyone the horrible ROI they are getting from their donations.
One of the big donors, Ferguson, has been a mentor to Woody since he was a player. He’s another roadblock to firing him, according to podcast.

From someone very high on the IU food chain, after the Louisville loss --- “This year is it. No significant improvement, Woodson is gone.”

No chance he is here next year unless a huge turnaround happens. He was very close to being fired last year.

Really pretty simple. A few big donors said ok we believe you didn’t have what you needed (X got hurt ruined me was woodys story, and hell I would go with that).

Gets a blank check and gets exactly who he wanted. All our dudes committed right after they visited.

How much you asking for? Done….✅

If we don’t win he is gone so fast. Really pretty simple.

Normally Final 4 weekend is like a coaches convention, even though Dolson most likely has his list made already. I agree with you "if we don't win he is gone so fast."

You beat me to it as I just listened to the podcast while working out this am.
They pretty much nailed it. As long as Quinn is Chairman of the Board of TrusteesCMW is safe and we're all screwed.
I realized we were beyond repair when I stopped making any effort in my schedule to watch games. And those I do catch, I have been turning them off before halftime. Lack of effort on both ends of the court, poor decision making, lack of cohesion, and complete lack of coaching/preparation.

I take it you would resign from a job where you make a million dollars a year?

Right, I believe that!
If he did, it’s not like Scott would be replaced with a wrecking ball. In fact, it would probably be the opposite.

We would likely be much worse off without Scott. He’s probably trying to work through the politics on the bball side right now.

I would agree the winds are changing and I would guess this podcast is an example of that. When I heard it, I had to ask myself: "why now?"? There is really very little new in the stuff they revealed and Evans has been a critic of CMW for awhile. They could have made this podcast the day after their meeting with CMW. I think someone asked them to do this now to help build the fire and case against CMW. Either a booster or even someone within the AD.

After the Louisville game someone high on the IU food chain said this -- “This year is it. No significant improvement, Woodson is gone.”
What does this even mean (“significant improvement”). We were historically bad last season.

no1 at IU asked them to do this. lol. They are a PR nightmare. Best thing for IU would be them being in a plane crash.

Dolson can and will but IMO timing might be a factor. The man calling the shots, Quinn Buckner, is not off the BOT until July, Dolson would need to fire and replace him in April.
I don’t understand. If Quinn is on until July, what is the preceding April deadline about.

Quinn is no longer calling shots. Woody got this year. Quinn and a few other donors basically got everyone to say “ok you get to see what he can do with a team of his choosing”. He makes his bed this year, right now poop stains all over it.

Maybe not someone from IU but one of the owners?

(I realize that HH’s is one of the owners of the program, but I’m not referring to them)

You could be correct. It may also just be an example of the trickle down effect. Fan outrage down to print outrage down to IU admin outrage (maybe should change the word to disappointment here) down to BOT outrage (and maybe a different word than outrage here as well. Would it be ROI?)

Maybe, and you're probably right, but overall I don't think this helps them by bringing this stuff back up. Right now, I think they are largely irrelevant to IU and agree it is good that they are more on the outside of the program. I'm sure they are doing whatever they can to try and stay relevant, so maybe that was their motivation, but this will gain some attention, and if it was just for their own benefit, I think it will reflect negatively on them and the program.

One of my daughters wanted a pet chinchilla so okay got her a chinchilla. After our new pet was settled in I found out that a chinchilla poops an average of forty times per day. They are like the champion poopers of the animal kingdom. Live and learn. CMW is like the chinchilla of the coaching community.

For sure just for their benefit. What they have done to make public about Walsh is so far out of bounds. They will never have access to the bball program again, or ever be tied to IU. They have burnt every bridge to a crisp.

I mean they told everyone that our AD is a pussy in the first pod they did about woody.

They said they were banned (I called that) I wouldnt let them in assembly hall ever again.

The team is going to struggle in the BT. maybe we go .500? Seems sort of doubtful. I see us losing most road games and losing 1 or 2 at home. .500 seems like a tall order w what I've seen so far. Specifically, I've seen enough of the guards to know they aren't good enough shooters.

Fellas, there is no way in holy Hell IU is retaining Woodson even if he is 9-7 in conference , which ain't happening.

I hope Hulls sticks around though.

Someone who left IU and Woody disgruntled? Sounds like there are plenty.

Woodson going to leave the job only when he wants to. He’s not getting fired.
Why would you think this? Do you think the big donors like throwing money down the toilet? Even Quinn has to realize that it's not working.

If we end up missing the tourney (I think the preseason goal was S16 or bust) and he is not fired, then the powers that be must want us to fail.
