1) parking is already sold out for the game. I was keeping an eye on it to go on sale and between last week when parking wasn't on sale yet to yesterday when parking for the season was on sale, it sold out. Crazy town. I was advised by their ticket office to go on the secondary market.

2) It's Halloween weekend so don't forget your costumes.

State college is not a great road trip. Not only do we lose but the campus and surrounding areas are not great

Respectfully disagree. I've been twice for IU games and both times were enjoyable experiences. State College is a great college town with many food/drink options. The surrounding countryside is beautiful in the fall (although fall foliage will be past its peak by Oct 28) and the air is crisp and clean. PSU fans are fine, too - - not like the a-holes in Columbus.

It is tough to get a hotel, though. We did an AirBnb once and stayed north of Harrisburg the second time out.

Agreed. Nice people, good campus with dining and drinking options, and a fantastic atmosphere. People need to actually go there and attend a game before panning State College. It’s the real deal.

3rd vote for thumbs up for State College.

I've been twice. Once for a game and once for work in the summertime. Had an absolute ball both times. Beautiful piece of country, awesome stadium when filled with 108,000 people. Kids that LOVE to party. I'll be with Jr. & the old man this go around, so I imagine it'll be relatively tame for me. But I was an inch from going there for law school because I enjoyed it so much.

We will have to agree to disagree. I have attended two IU games there and traveled there on business maybe three or four times so have seen it game days and off days.

Sure it is better campus than Ill, PU, Ahia…but still not great, ding.

We are so fortunate.

I think the common complaint about Penn State is the gameday traffic. Countless horror stories of the logjam coming into State College on a game day.
On a Saturday gameday, State College becomes the 3rd largest city in the state of Pennsylvania for 1 day. I would imagine the only two larger are Pittsburgh and Philly.
The problem is trying to funnel all this traffic on the one road leading to town. It isn’t equipped or built to handle all the vehicles.
The stadium is iconic because of the crowd and winning. Structurally? Nothing more than a giant erector set. Pretty sterile looking.

Yeah, only dealt with traffic on the games days. No traffic issues on the business trips. It is a pretty part of the state but just not my fav campus…but we are spoiled.

My bad on the thread breakdown, I should have ignored him.

I believe they’ve at least broached the subject of building a new Beaver Stadium. And you‘re.right, anyone who’s actually been there has horror stories about game day traffic.

I only know a handful of psu grads, mostly through business. They are pretty proud of that erector set

It's pretty nice. Was there for that great 1993 game that we almost pulled out.
I've never been there, but... if nothing much has changed in the area in the 30 years since you were last there then I'd wager it's not looking all that great now.
