Truth is very few folks really care about IU Football..you may your group of friends may but in the grand specter of sports nobody cares. How to make them care you ask?
Specific to IU you have continuity. I know the arguments..paying more for mediocrity et al. This may be true but IU has not really tried continuity since the Mallory days. The Mallory days are looked at fondly because they overshadow any and everything done since but they were bad to mediocre. Everything since has been abysmal to close it down bad.,
Now at least a perceived jump in the program can be built upon. I say perceived because truth is the schedule and only the schedule allowed IU to visit a Bowl. The wins aren't really good MAC team worthy but the perception is this is a team on the rise and perception may or may not be reality we shall see.
So great move by Fred sticking to his word and his understanding that this is a long term fix.
