Coming to IU for 1 yr.

2 year starter in RF for Samford, a D1 program in the Southern Conference. Apparently can also play 1st. The guy who played first for them this year was the freshman of the year in their conference and had better #s than Fucci.

The Bad: He strikes out. A lot. he had 74 Ks in 224 OABs (33%) & only 27 BBs. To put that in perspective, Cole Barr struck out on 40% of his OABs, against better pitching, obviously, and had more BBs.

The Good: 6-3, 230 lbs. Lefty..Jack Skreine(sp?), our other 1st base prospect, is a righty Productive hitter, especially last year. Hit.306, 3rd highest on a 41-19 team, with a .387 OB% (Barr was at .388 v. better pitchers), with 15 HRs, 14 doubles, 2 triples, 49 RBIs. Hit mostly clean-up (31 games), but also 2nd (25 games) and a few other spots. All 1st team Southern Conference as a RF. Apparently not slow, as 4 SBs and rarely hit into DPs. Also, only two Es all year. Originally out of Lexington, KY, where he was allegedly the #1 KY 1st base prospect his SR year. His brother played at Wright St., thus the IU connection. Don't know why he left a successful Samford team.....speculation might be that they played the frosh at 1st over him, but that's total speculation on my part. Started 58 games in 2017, the RS 2018--must have been hurt and got a medical RS as he had 26 OABs that year.
