Sounds like his family getting lawyered up to fight NCAA.
Why spend that money to never go to NBA anyway? Hope he had a good college major to fall back on in a career. IU simply doesn't need him if they can get a Chaikin or Glover to come. CDD has cleaned house and there's a fresh air in the house. I don't get the love for him just because he played in Indiana . If that was the case where's the love for Briscoe here? He's from Indiana.

From Goode's perspective or CDD/IU's perspective?

Goode... another year of six figures NIL money would be nice. Playing for a solid IU team, with the excitement of CDD's first year. Prolonging having to join the "real world".

CDD/IU... I don't know Goode, but he appears like he'd be a good "locker room" guy. He has some length, can shoot it fairly well... probably would be able to get him for a lot less than what his market value might be...so he'd be a "bargain", in many ways.

Just curious, why would you say he has moved on? Obviously he has to recruit as if he will not be here, but what evidence do you have to think he would not want/take him back? It seems to me that by not entering the portal, CDD has expressed a willingness to take him back if he does get his 5th year, but like a smart coach, is also recruiting as if he does not get his 5th year

Because you can play college til you are 26 and make like 800k a year doing it. Think about it six years in college playing against 17 year olds. Not a bad gig.

Briscoe could be an important piece but not right away. He is a good player.

I went to the Bahamas. It was a good place to witness team/coach chemistry. Goode was the only guy who looked like he truly wanted to be there

Yeah, Leal liked that free money too sitting on the bench most of his career. Use it for viable players.

I won't continue much further down this rabbit hole, its been hashed out ad nauseum...but my opinion is Leal was viable, and should have played more than he did throughout his career...as the rosters were constructed.

Goode is also very viable, as well.

Don’t recall IU going to the Bahamas this past year, am I wrong or are you thinking a couple of years ago when he was playing for Illinois?

IU played in the Atlantis tourney last fall... got drilled by Louisville and Gonzaga, and beat Providence. The Louisville game was the beginning of the end for Woodson, at IU.

He didn’t just play in Indiana though. He’s a legacy guy. Whole family went to IU. His dad and uncle Trent green played football.

Agreed.

But are slow white dudes from
Fort Wayne what we want to throw money at?
Good kid.
Local. Old. Should have a life dictated by his “degree” by now correct. Old guy.

Will never play professionally aside from minor leagues here. I get it. He gets it
Get yo money from fools. Cool.

But seriously — How badly are we working at this “ buying it back?” deal.
Seems disjointed.

Ready ————-Go.

Sorry.

Sense is a curse word round these parts.

There's some smoke that Goode is returning. He does fit the mold of a DeVries guy: good leader, over 6'6 in height, low turnover rate, questionable defender, and good shooter.

If you're the 12th guy as a grad, it's a waste of funds that could be used to get a multi year guy. I have nothing personal against him buy never once saw him make any difference last year. I just don't want chemistry messed up by it. He might feel he deserves more playing time that CDD might not be able to give out. We don't need a $800,000 riding the pines unless he's a high 4 or 5 star recruit for 3-4 years of play left.
