Bruce's last Illini team of 2011-12 quit on him. Think they lost their last 8 or 9. Myers Leonard was soft, trying not to get hurt for early entry to nba. Brandon Paul was a great player who couldn't do it alone. Jereme Richmond a year or 2 earlier was a complete bust and head case. In jail last I recall.

While it was probably good for both parties to separate, they certainly didn't upgrade when they hired Groce.
