This is a positive thread about winning handedly against a Big Ten foe.

The ball move well and IU got some easy buckets and good looks.

As much as I'd argue that Minnesota might be the worst defensive team in the league, I'd also argue they will give a few teams some bad losses, and IU wasn't one of them.

Good win.

Not all schedules are created equally this time of year but Minnesota entered the game as 5th best in PPG allowed.

This is what I was afraid of when I looked at the schedule in December. With these games in December things set up to give Woodson a Christmas mirage, making it appear that the team is doing well and improving against inferior competition. The ONLY game that might give us some insight into where this team is truly at is this Friday at Nebraska, but then again, Nebraska is very inconsistent in their play, so even that might not be an accurate measuring stick. Of course the realistic fans can see this clearly but the sunshine pumpers and Woodson apologists will jump at the chance to toot their horns and ignore reality once again…

The Bahamas trip lowered the bar of expectations quite a bit.

Minnesota is horrible. Probably last place team in the B10. The second half of the first half team looked decent. For early part second half we looked decent and then we flat out sucked the rest of the game.

On a positive note Woodson’s tailored suit looked great. He also had some very nice black shoes on. I wanted to ask him after the game where he got the shoes. I would love to have some. Unfortunately I bet it takes a $4 million salary to afford them.

I liked to see that we were running some stuff for someone other than Ballo & Reneau - some stagger and other screens on the perimeter. I thought our cuts off those screens could be executed a little better. But at least we're beginning to throw a little more at the defense other than just forcing it into the post player.

balderdash!

i'm guessing maybe 10% of the people here think Woodson is coming back next year.

gotta get me one of those sunshine pumps though.

I have always like their down screen to have Tucker come over the top for his mid-range jumper.

Check the January schedule. Reality is unavoidable in the B1G.

It was an enjoyable game to watch, and not all have been.

Sounded decently loud on TV.
Not much. I would guess 60–70% of capacity. The start of the game was slow and fans were anxious. From about last 8-10 minutes first half to the first 8-10 minutes of the second half people were engaged but not crazy loud AH. The last 10-12 minutes it was not good.

It’s too bad that joy didn’t find its way into the morgue called AH. 😂
How many people were there? I was there Friday and was actually surprised, the crowd was larger than I thought it would be. If I had to guess, I'd say 13-14k. It wasn't buzzing with energy by any stretch but the team wasn't doing much to pump the crowd up. Seems like there should have been some moments yesterday.

It was one of those games when I never doubted IU would win. I'd guess much of the crowd also never doubted it.

Whether Minny is a decent team or bottom dweller, it was IUs best game. More connected on D, but not great. Too many rim runs for the Gophers.

It's going to be difficult for OB, MR and LG to keep the ball in front of them in space. That's going to be a problem.

The shooting was better. They looked capable, at least from two. The guard play is just OK. It's not dictating the game on either end.

I'm not sold on IU turning a corner just yet. They may just be a middle of the pack team that surprises someone at home, but let's see how they do on the road against better teams.

Rice and Gallow still haven't brought their best. When they do, IMO this will be a very deep and competitive club in the B1G. Win at home and steal a couple on the road in a typically very tough B1G is the formula.

Let's hope that's true about Rice and Trey. I'm seeing Rice as good not great. He has ability but it's a work in progress. He has to get a lot stronger. Trey is just not himself. The injury last year has set him back. Not explosive or quick. Not as disruptive on D. His handle is still questionable. Frankly, he looks out of shape compared to previous seasons. Probably to be expected as I believe he is not fully recovered. Regardless, IU needs more from all of their guards.
