But can you all just settle down please lol. Last 2 games I would have bet we would have lost both games. Its not easy to win on the road in conference. Our 2-3 road record is one of the better ones in the Big Ten. I'm a HUGE Cubs fan and I'm even going to make fun of myself some here but lot of you sound like Cubs fans like myself lol. We win 4 in the role we are going all the way but if we lose 2 in a row we are finished/Fire Crean so on. We lose tomorrow that's one thing, but we all just need to chill. Last 6 games set up pretty well for us and we all would have took 6-3 the first half if we win tomorrow. In the words of Aaron Rodgers ( which I do not like being a Bears fan) everyone just needs to R-E-L-A-X.

Two of those in a row would really suck wouldn't it? We're not out of the woods yet. I don't relax until I hear IU get announced on Selection Sunday. Is it life and death? No. But in the world of college basketball at IU, not making the tournament 2 years in a row shouldn't be tolerated.

I don't think many people have an issue with just losing.
It is the fact that in all three road L's. we weren't even close to being competitive. It is one thing to compete and lose but to be dominated in all three is disturbing to say the least.

Had no business losing either of those games
you can make excuses but the fact is both of those games should have been at least very close... The team probably plays the worst defense I've ever witnessed and I'm almost 50.
Crean should give back some of his pay for the lack of defense alone. He can call out players like Hanner but this is squarely on him and his staff.
They lose to Rutgers and the boo birds will be flying high at Assembly Hall.
If Cody hadn't come to IU Crean would have been fired by now.

Yes theres no question without Zeller crean would of been gone by now. There is no Zeller coming in the near future though so its back to NCAA bubble at best.

First off, being a Cubs fan not pleased with mediocrity at all. Don't know any Cubs fans like that anymore, those days have been gone since 2003. Second off, someone brought up Joe Maddon and until someone like Joe Maddon in college basketball is available to hired which there hasn't been anyone at lately, there is no reason to be looking for another coach. I'm not a Crean guy at all, but just to think its going to be greener on the other side just firing him doesn't make sense at all. Also what difference does it make we got killed or not on the last 2 road games? Make you feel better if it was close? Look at Maryland, they got killed at our place and OSU as well. I also find it sad that in late Jan I am more excited about the upcoming season for the Cubs than I am about the current season of IU basketball.

I'm tired of being told to relax.
I've heard this ever since Knight was fired. Every year, we are suppose to sit back and watch IU underachieve, right? It's not losing the last two games that troubles me, it's how we lost! It use to be that I felt IU could beat any team we played, home or away, but it sure isn't that way now and hasn't been for years.

I'd say this yrs team is overachieving. People might not like to hear that
bc they think it's our right to be an elite program. What we should hope for is continual improvement. Some years will let us down. This yr has not been a let down in my mind. We are above where we all thought we would be.

Maybe but we're ranked 49 on kenpom
and in the 40's on Sagarin. Seems to me the conference as a whole is UNDER-achieving and were reaping the benefits of other teams injuries and failed preseason expectations. We're exactly where we thought we would be, it's just the rest of the conference is down. I love how people assess the team in an isolated vacuum when it's in reality relative to the competition.

That's fine but then we should not have to pay over 3 million a year for these results .We could get somebody for half that and get the same results.

...that people aren't wound to the proverbial breaking point because of the last two games, right? They're wound up out of the frustration of 20 years of program neglect that has us celebrating "not sucking as bad as we feared" as if it's some sort of awesome accomplishment.
People have no hope for the future of the program. What we have been the last 20 years is what we are today, and it's what people are seeing as our inevitable future. I barely batted an eye at the PU game, and that's the most disturbing part of it to me.
