I'm really happy that we have another game to watch our Hoosiers. This has been as enjoyable year as I can remember in 40 years of listening/watching IU. Lots of disappointment, but always enjoyable and looking forward to the next game. Hasn't always been that way.
Some fond memories....
-Reading the Herald Times and wishing I could see Courtney Snyder run the ball
-Listening to Don Fisher make even a 3 yard gain by Mike Harkrader seem like an 80 scamper for a TD
-Watching Lee Corso EVERY Sunday and making the show seem like we were gonna be great someday
-Lee Corso diagraming the play where Lonnie Johnson caught the ball and ran several yards for the winning TD against Iowa. Then watching the replay and thinking Corso was a genius.
-Getting to watch one of my all time favorite IU players Tim Wilbur make incredible reads and intercepting the ball over and over without much athletic ability
-Watching Wilbur field punts and run for TD's,,,,especially the TD against BYU in the Holiday Bowl
-Being in Wildcat Stadium among UK fans and screaming loudly with my best friend who now has MS and we still agree that it was the most exciting sporting event either of us has ever attended. Corso's son caught the winning TD with about 6 seconds left
-Getting excited watching Mike Friede kick a 90 punt.....a freaking punt to get excited about
-Thinking the lowest point in IU Football was watching UM beat us on a last second TD pass after our DB's ran into each other
-Seeing Van Waiters block kicks and playing at a level we haven't seen at IU very often
-Witnessing the special person and talent we had at IU in Anthony Thompson
-The special wins against OSU and UM
-All the class that Coach Mallory brought us and wishing that he could just win a few more
-Wondering how we could have a running back in Vaughn Dunbar that was probably BETTER than AT
-The excitement that Antwaan gave us on EVERY single play that he ran
-Having a guy come coach at IU that seemed MORE excited about IU Football than me in Coach Hep
-Watching Austin Starr kick the winning FG against Purdue
-Now just BEAT DUKE!!!!!!!!!
