Game 4 - Gophers

This shapes up to be a pretty important game out of the chute. It’d be nice to start 3-1 after missing out on that first Rutger game. Go Hoosiers!

It's 3-0 , IU, in the T3rd, for those not listening or watching the game. Richardson got skunked at the plate in our first two games, but was able to get it going last night and again tonight so far.

Bothwell really had a shaky 3rd inning, giving up a homer, a double and two walks after he was ahead of the batter. We are fortunate to still be up 3-1 batting in the 4th.

That's more like it. Bothwell strikes them out in order in the 4th. IU still up 3-1 batting in the 5th.

Well, we got the run back plus one. A one-out double by Richardson, as single by Barr to put runners on the corner, and a RBI FC driving in Richardson. A Fucci single drove in Barr for the second run. It's 5-1, IU, with Minny batting B5th.

Nathan Stahl, a freshman RHP, on the mound for IU with Minny batting in the 6th and IU still up 5-1.

Morgan Colopy looks like the next star on this roster. That was a big time throw from the right field wall. Nailed the guy by a full step at second.

Yeah, I complained about it after the first game, but they've really come through since then.

IU chases the Gophers' pitcher in the 7th. A leadoff homer by Ashley, a Richardson double, and then a hit batter (Barr) and a walk. IU has the bases loaded with no outs so far. IU up 6-1 right now.

No outs, let’s get something here!

IU up 7-1 after plating two runs in the the T7th. Minny batting in the bottom of the inning. A double play by the Gophers got them out of the jam in the inning after giving up two runs.

Stahl has pitched well since coming in. He got them out in order in the 7th. IU batting in the 8th, up 7-1.

IU batting T9th, still up 7-1.

IU added a run in the 9th and is up 8-1, and is three outs away from wrapping this one up.

IU wins 8-1 to take 3 of 4 over the weekend, a good start to the season. Bothwell pitched well as did Stahl in three innings of relief. Litwicki pitched the 9th to close it out.
